I went to see Stars last night at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. I wasn't really expecting a whole ton out of them, but they put on a great, great show. I was front row so I had an amazing angle on everything. Torquil's a weird dude, but the chemistry between him and Amy is awesome. The set was heavy in Set Yourself on Fire and In Our Bedroom... stuff, with only Elevator Love Letter coming from pre-SYOF stuff.

The encore was The Night Starts Here, My Favorite Book, some Smiths cover, and Calender Girl. They were only going to play the first two but they had extra time so they played two more.

By the looks of it the show was in the small upstairs room? Suprises me. How did you like the paradiso?

this makes me want to go see stars again. at VFest in Toronto this year they pretty much sucked because they seemed so tired/pissed off. i don't know why i was so turned off by their performance. every other time i've seen them i had a great time.
