well in the authority there's apollo (the greek god) and the midnighter (batman) and they're totally gay for each other.

Animation sure has improved since when I last watched the spider man cartoons back in the fifties. I mean a few weeks ago in the morning, the cartoon was from the 50s or 60s though.

Anyway, I may check this out, but, skimming through it somewhat recently, the Death of Superman storyline is pretty gawdawful. Basically Doomsday tears through the entire frickin' Justice League (a real weak, minor incarnation that you know sucks when Booster Gold and Blue Beetle are the biggest faces on the team) without even breaking a sweat and beats Superman to death. Where in the fuck is Batman? Where the fuck was Flash? Christ, where the fuck was Green Lantern? Were they too busy saving kitty-kats out of trees? Its just so lame to think that Superman could die, and not a single other major player in the DCU could show up and lend a hand. He's freakin Superman! He doesn't get punked out like that, and he at least has some backups.

I did like the reveal of Doomsday over the course of the comics as his clothes came off in more tatters, though. That was kind of a cool trick.
