View Full Version : Boise Idaho cancelled
skipgo 09-18-2007, 12:18 PM New post on the myspace. wonder what's up with this?
The show scheduled for Boise, Idaho on September 26th at the Qwest Arena HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
We apologize for any incovenience.
"I don't go around anywhere hitting on men, and by God, if I did, I wouldn't do it in Boise, Idaho! Jiminy!"
JRiordan 09-18-2007, 12:52 PM Sadly I'm guessing due to poor ticket sales.
This show was only announced quite recently on August 22:

The arena holds 5000 people:

With only a month onsale, I really doubt they sold close to 5000 in Boise, especially with other northwest folks more likely going to the 2 Washington shows and/or Vancouver show.
Pizza Club 09-18-2007, 02:57 PM That breaks my heart that Lil Wayne and Evanescence can both play there no problem.
Netphorian Gadabout 09-18-2007, 03:25 PM I feel bad for small market fans who get their show canceled. It's not like LA who will get the Pumpkins on virtually every tour.

kanph 09-18-2007, 03:49 PM this is why you don't schedule anything in idaho.
eyeboogers 09-18-2007, 03:55 PM If that was the case why didn't they just move the show to a smaller venue ?

i bet so too. announced to late and the word didnt really get spread. i live in idaho and was going to both the salt lake and boise shows. salt lake is closer but dammit i wanted to go to both.
saidsadly33 09-18-2007, 04:34 PM i had tickets to the boise show, im pretty freaking upset
hilarious location, said sadly
smashapumpkin 09-18-2007, 07:22 PM do we really know that its due to poor ticket sales
MonteLDS 09-18-2007, 07:49 PM i think it is most likely due to the poor ticket sales. why would you cancel a sold out show?
I was thinking about going to this show too since i have friends up there I could visit. Thank goodness i never got tix.
1100ww 09-18-2007, 07:56 PM i guess as long as it's not canceled due to "family problems"...

ughh.. I think the zwan breakup was way more upsetting for me than sp's. SP just seemed ready to die on the machina tour and it seemed obvious... whereas zwan was all hugs and kisses in their magazine interviews, the rumors of the djali zwan dvd in september and then recording the third batch of zwan songs after the summer tour .... plus all the rumors of the various incarnations of zwan and hearing how organic and natural the band was... all down the drain and it was months before even a statement was made... family problems. yeah.
commando 09-19-2007, 01:06 AM stupid. why did they try to book a big ass arena only one month out when they could have just as easily sold out The Big Easy in one second and had a magical/legendary show? it's so maddening sometimes.
Cool As Ice Cream 09-19-2007, 03:40 AM obviously sp2 broke up because of the immoral behaviour of some members. this isn't official yet, but i heard jeff and lisa went for an icecream after the show. if i were billy and found out about this i would at least beat them up or even kill them, but he is too much of a gentleman. instead he chose to cancel the shows and invent another britney excuse for the end of sp2.
soon on mtv.

I love you Bram. But Billy is right in this case...he simply won't allow a bassist who is not skeletal thin in the band
Cool As Ice Cream 09-19-2007, 05:39 AM lisa is not a bassist. neither is jeff.
Kahlo 09-19-2007, 05:42 AM ha ha oops. I need more coffee
Garson had all the icecream he could eat so this is outrageous

If this place is as small as you make it sound like, then there would be little financial reason to travel there I would think. And after all, money is what ultimately got the show canceled in the first place.

Im guessing they sold 2-3 thousand seats at qwest so they couldn't provide tickets to every one if they moved it there. The pumpkins at the big easy would have been great though its very similar dimensions to the metro in Chicago. I'll be seeing Interpol at the Big easy next Month.
I am going to the Salt lake show and have 3 extra floor tickets if anyone is interested.

shootmegavrilo! 09-19-2007, 02:42 PM interpol was actually able to sell-out that venue.

 i knew he had tickets, but i'm sure he could always invite more people he knows in the area.. you did already see BTL.. but it would be cool to see gossamer again

Yes, I was sort of expectign Gossamer in Vegas... unfortunately the cards did not fall into place. Still not really sure why. I've yet to post my complete Vegas review; will try to do that tonight.
I'd just like to see another GA show, since Normal, IL on 10/4 is a seated theatre and I only have 16th row center (poor me!!! ;) ).
If they don't play Gossamer in IL, then I'll have to start looking at east coast shows... it's been a few years since I've been to Philly, and I'm always up for an authentic cheesesteak along with my Pumpkins...
saidsadly33 09-20-2007, 07:43 PM The lady on the phone, that was refunding my money, said that evanance, or whatever that horrible band is sold more in 4 days then the pumpkins have the entire time since they put them on sale
