boy, have i been missing out. i heard they sucked about 10 years ago so i never checked them out. then i watched stop making sense because it was directed by jonathan demme who also did storefront hitchcock and the recent neil young concert film. this stuff is spectacular.

i picked up the first album on vinyl. my record dealer has got them all. which next two should i get?

Any post like this that goes long enough will name all the albums. So I'll throw Speaking In Tongues as my current favorite. But the Stop Making Sense dvd is where it's at.

this way worked for me:

fear of music
stop making sense
remain in light
more songs about buildings and food
77
speaking in tongues

true stories, little creatures and naked are somewhat weak albums when taken as a whole, but each have two or three amazing songs

Seeing as how you not only enjoyed Stop Making Sense, but that it got you into the band in the first place, I'd recommend getting Speaking In Tongues next. Personally, I'd go for Fear of Music, More Songs About Buildings and Food, or Remain in Light, but do as you will.

They played the songs from this album perfectly on Stop Making Sense.

Maybe played is the wrong word. I enjoyed those songs the most on the SMS video.

Side note: Was searching around for more live Talking Heads on youtube and found Velvet Revolver covering "Psycho Killer". I would embed the video in here, but it's really not worth anyone's time.

The new remasters are superb, have good bonus tracks, and are dualdiscs with band-approved 5.1
