Yes, today at 8 AM the police came to my house b/c they thought i had a drug lab. When i was talking to the policeman, i threw up on his shoes because i was really intoxicated.

They've been outside my house a few times while I was talking to them, but that's only because kids in the neighborhood kept fucking with my car. I think they were eventually caught.

when i lived in student housing, someone called the cops when my roommate forgot his keys inside the apartment and let himself in thru the bedroom window.

also, he was black. probably why someone called the cops.

i called the cops when my parents were fighting once. they came in for that.

HA! This reminds me of highschool so much. This used to happen all the time at parties. The party would always end up getting busted after like an hour of cat-and-mouse with the cops. I think only once did not opening the door actually work.

Some idiot cop knocked on the door when I was like 14 and asked if he could speak to my mom or dad. My mom was in the shower so I had to sort of just sit in the living room with the cop for about 10 minutes before she came out. We sat there in total silence staring at the floor, me having no idea what it was about and too afraid to ask. The only time the silence was broken was when the cop saw that I had been watching Lord of the Rings and paused it to get the door. He told me he had recently seen it but didnt understand it. I just stared at the floor. It turns out he backed into my father's motorcycle and totalled it while leaving our apartment parking lot.

i was sleeping one time and heard all this shouting upstairs... turns out my little sister had accidently autodialed 911 and hung up... the police came over and just waltzed right in the backdoor whih was unlokced. i go the the foot of the stairs in my boxers to see what the hell is going on and i get a flashlight in my eyes and a terse "who are you?" to which i responded... "i fucking live here who are you?"... then they turned off the light and i could see they were cops and i got scared. so i had to host a couple cops in my underwear until the whole thing was straightened out.

Once when they came for my brother.

The worst run in I have ever had with a cop was in Fremont. Fucking Fremont cops are pigs. :( I had expired plates on my car, so they pull me over. I wasn't expecting them to treat me like I was some damn criminal.

Here I am alone with my kid, and 4 more cars shows up. You would think I just held up a gas station. Then they make me get out, and get my kid, and go stand in the hot sun while they search through my car. Then they take my purse and start going through it. I'm like wtf are you going through my purse for? Over expired plates! And my bitching alone pissed off a female cop. She's like, "Keep your mouth shut. We're trying not to treat you like a suspect....'

I said, "You already are!!" fucking bitches. They towed my car away, and left us to get all the way home alone. I never let my plates go expired now.

one time about 6 years ago the lock on my front door broke, and myself and 2 friends were trying to get inside. we finally just broke the door handle and got in. it took about 30 minutes, but JUST as we were breaking the door and going in the cops showed up. one of our neighbors had called them. they questioned us, looked at my license(which had that address on it) and they left.

then i yelled "yeah, and don't come back ya damn pigs!!!!" and i fired my pistol into the air repeatedly.

Here's my big story. I'm at work so I'm sorry if it's all over the place but I'm doing like 5 things at once.

So once I got into a verbal argument with one of our neighbors over a washer. I thought his stuff had finished since it stopped and it felt a little damp. There was this big sign that says you can move people's stuff if they haven't done it yet...there was only 2 washers and 2 dryers, and lots of people using them (big building). So I did, he came in as I was putting my stuff in and started screaming at me. I explained the situation to him and said it was just a misunderstanding, but he was obviously offended. I said the other washer was done now so he could just switch the stuff in there. He's all OH NO I CAN'T DO THAT! I point at the sign and say, yes, you can.

So by then I've been screamed at and called a bitch to the point where I had enough. I started screaming back, calling him an idiot, dumb fuck, fag - to combat the bitch, cunt, slut names I was being called. So I ran back to the apartment to get Mark and when I come back he'd taken my stuff out of the washer which I already started, put my dollar and soap into. So I started taking the stuff out of the other washer that was done so I could start my load again, demanding my dollar back from the guy. He wouldn't give it to me and ended up trapping me in the laundry room (Mark behind me, the dude in front of me blocking the doorway out, his boyfriend was now behind him. Telling us we're the reason the neighborhood is fucked up, us "Straighties". I kept telling him to move, he wouldn't and got threatening to me so I pushed my way out, we're both yelling and cussing at each other the entire way.

He says "I'm going to call the cops!" I said "Call them, dumbass, they'll laugh at you for this - you're so fucking stupid!" Etc, etc

So we go back in the apartment and I realize what just happened, we clean up our bowls and spray some air freshener.

The cops knock on the door, I'm on the bed with the dog (studio apt) and Mark answers the door, very friendly. They tell him to get the fuck out of the way and push their way into the apartment. Jack (bitey), my blind, deaf, one eared dog was on the bed, barking. The male cop says "You better calm your dog down, ma'am, I don't want to have to shoot him"

WTF!

So I go off, explaining the whole story just like "this is so stupid" the whole time. Then they say "Did you call him any names?" I said none any worse than what he called me. They looked at me, waiting...and I rolled my eyes and said "YES! I CALLED HIM A FAG!". They start lecturing me, telling me that it's a hate crime if I call him a fag. I'm like wtf, how is that any worse than being called a slut or a bitch or a cunt?

So then they tell me that he said I kicked him in the stomach! I said "NO FUCKING WAY, he's lying, that's complete bullshit. Did you see how big that guy is?! They threatened ME!" So they say well we'll go back and talk to him but if he wants to press charges, you'll have to spend the night in jail!

Oh it was so ridiculous I laughed in their face and said "I can't wait to hear what my boss has to say when I tell her I'm in jail for doing laundry on a Sunday night..." They came back and said he dropped the charges and they lectured me once more and left.

Mark at least had the kindness to say Hi and nod to them when he saw them in the halls from then on - I just scowled every time and cursed them under my breath. Fuck those assholes. And fuck those cops!

I should've. Although I was in my house with my boyfriend.

I was just reading on some site about hate crimes and they say it also has to do with gender, so what I really should've done was press charges against him for threatening me and trying to intimidate me - being the small, frail female I am - and then they called me all these derogitory names. That's a hate crime against me for being female!

God, I swear everytime I think about it just riles me up.

Yes I have anger issues, but I've been doing better lately. Hell, I would've socked the guy in the face had I not had even that much control. This was like 2.5 years ago though. I'm a lot better now. I found peace :smoke:

And no, we didn't have specific times. It was a free for all, hence the sign on the wall that said if someone didn't come to switch their laundry when it was done, you can do it. It was like a 7 floor building with at least 3 dozen apartments on each floor, and only like 8 washers total? Not sure, only 2 on our floor though. It was madness.

That's fucked up...people are honestly fucking stupid sometimes. We're actually really hesitant to ever move from our apartment simply because we're actually lucky at the moment with decent neighbors, and there's only a couple living upstairs and a couple living downstairs.

And yeah, cops are assholes in Chicago. There's some nice ones, of course, but few and far between. Most of them are power hungry assholes that just want to intimidate people into submission. And of course they were scanning our apartment the whole time, hoping we had something out. At least they had enough respect to do that instead of tearing our place apart trying to find something, I guess.

They had probable cause because there was the claim of an assault. That is enough to go get ya (I think anyway).

KrazeeStacee
09-14-2007, 11:56 AM
I'm pretty sure they have to ask you to come out of your house first, then talk to you. If you don't come out, then they can come in and get you. I didn't resist, they didn't even tell me that there was claim of an assault until they were about to walk out.

My point is, they don't need a warrant to come into your house. They say get the fuck out of the way and push their way in. Good luck trying to take something stupid like that to court. The only way you'd get anywhere is if they actually found something criminal and tried to use it against you - without a warrant, that kind of shit can be turned around. If you have a good lawyer, that is. But they can push you around all they want to, courts don't care.

KrazeeStacee
09-14-2007, 12:00 PM
Besides, probable cause is anything. They can come to my door and say "I smell pot" and then they have the right to come in and check it out. Ain't nothin' you can do...you can't prove if someone thought they smelled something or not.

jczeroman
09-14-2007, 12:41 PM
I agree, the rules are crap - but those are the rules. However, if they break in there because the claim to smell pot and don't find any, you do have grounds for a lawsuit. A good lawyer will get you the win on that one.

i've never had a run-in with any cops. our high school parties were basically all in our unincorporated, reasonably secluded houses. no cops around ever. and neighbors never heard us really.

last year i was at some party off campus, and i was wayyyy too drunk, and i saw two cops like...in the house. i think they were just trying to make everyone go inside. which is weird because you always hear about kids getting drinking tickets around here.

oh, but a campus police officer yelled at me for peeing outside the first night i was back this year. he was like "you know, there are plenty of places to go indoors. especially _____, which is open 24 hours....oh wait it's not open tonight. but still, that's just disgusting."

i mean, i went like, behind some bush. not on a sidewalk or anything. sheesh. i guess he was cool for just warning me though.

I agree, the rules are crap - but those are the rules. However, if they break in there because the claim to smell pot and don't find any, you do have grounds for a lawsuit. A good lawyer will get you the win on that one.
Well unfortunately that won't happen in my case, because they will find some and I'll be screwed.

For instance, we were getting high with our friend while they were doing their draft picks for fantasy football, just hanging out and the bell rings and it's a cop. He tells me our neighbors got robbed and he's filling out reports from the neighbors. So he asked if he could step inside the hallway and I said yes, I know he could smell the pot but he was probably just a nice cop and since I'm just a little girl in my baby blue fleece robe and penguin pajama pants, he either didn't assume it was me or didn't think I was causing a problem. Had it been Mark answering the door it might've went a little differently...and there ain't shit we would've been able to do about it.

Basically it's the mentality like, well if you're truly innocent then you wouldn't mind me looking around... Regardless of whether it's legal or not. If you refuse, well then, you must have something to hide!

There was a murder by my house once and they came and questioned me..Some drug addict prostitute had been murdered..But after I got really drunk dressed as a pirate and so nearly walked to the crime scene drunk with some coffee for the police..that could of been bad..

also, stop breaking the law if you are paranoid of getting in trouble.

Twice:

Once because they thought we were involved in a hit and run,

Second because they thought we had called 911, cop came to the clear screen door (which is right next to the living room while my friend was holding up a giant nugget of weed to his face, cop smirked at us after my friend clumsily explained that we had not called 911. Cop went on his way.

One came round to get my statement, after I drove into 2 cars. I thought it was rather nice of them to come to me, since I thought they normally just told you to get the fuck down the station for crap like that.

I was sober, it was raining hard, my brakes locked up coming off a roundabout a wee bit too fast, I clipped the front of some guy's van heading in the opposite direction, then wrote off some bloke's Daimler that he'd just spent 2 years restoring, while trying to get back on my side of the road. Nothing exciting, just crap driving.

I never let my plates go expired now.

what. the. fuck.

at my birthday party this year i had a band in one room and the stereo cranked up in another, and someone on the first floor must've been too afraid to knock on our door, so they called the cops on us. they didn't actually enter the apartment, but stood outside. he told us not to post him on youtube, so i'll post him on netphoria instead:
