You totally forgot the Screaming Trees. Geez. How could you leave out such an important part of the grunge rock scene? I mean, they were totally the definitive Seattle band for the early nineties. : http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/rolleyes.gif:

So what has my state had. . . Hmm. . . Michigan. Well, we had The Verve Pipe. Yay. And recent indie heroes Small Brown Bike. Also:

The Stooges
Motown. Come on! Motown Records rocked it.
Kid Rock . . . wait. . . that's not bragging.
There've gotta be at least a half dozen others that I'm not thinking of at the moment.

California is responsible for the worst punk and ska music as well 80s hair bands and ****llica. So no, we don't win.

I guess we did have Beach Boys, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N Roses, NWA, The Byrds, The Eagles, Janes Addiction, X, Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Dave Brubek. They're alright.

pretty much. http://www.netphoria.org/wwwboard/frown.gif
Buddy Holly's not that bad. He's just old school.

I'd like to add Experimental Aircraft to the list. If you live outside of Austin, there's probably no way you'll know about them. They're lazy and never leave town.

I've been obsessed with the song "Astounded" from their new album. I think it still hasn't been released in the states. Pisses me off. I don't want to pay $30 for the CD, unless of course, the songs on it are even half as good as that track.

Oh, Oklahoma should have put: J.J. Cale
Texas should have listed: Lyle Lovett
New York " " ": Steely Dan
Illinois (sp?) " " ": Warren Zevon

and as far as The Talking Heads:
David was Born in Scotland, lived his childhood in Maryland, did early preforming in Maryland (playing the ukalalee). He met Chris and Tina in Rhoade Island (sp?). After dropping out of RIA he went back to Marlyand and preformed a bit. Then soon after formed the band and moved to New York. And if you go to a David Byrne concert in Baltimore the drunk people will scream "Welcome Back Home, David" and David will just politely smile.

One more thing: If anyone thinks their state blows, I live in West Virginia....braging isn't even considered.
