ATTENTION MUSIC BOARD ENTHUSIASTS
Many of you are no doubt familiar with the "All Music Guide", the internet's answer to your retarded uncle who claimed to know John Bonham. You can find it at www.allmusic.com (http://www.allmusic.com).
I was browsing there this evening, and I noticed strange parallels between Meat Loaf, the Gin Blossoms, and Husker Du--they're all, through some obscene AMG logic, slightly altered versions of The Chipmunks. Whether they're "more Plain, Simple", "more Sensual, Playful", or even "Gentler, more Peaceful", I've found that a cavaclade of artists can be definded in terms of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.
The basis of the Chipmunk Contest is this: using ten or fewer steps, connect the Chipmunks to the most improbable band or solo artist you possibly can. Post them here, and on next Saturday I will select the winning entry and bestow a money prize of $5 on the winner.
That's it. Have fun.
