THEY WERE ALL ON VACATION. RopeyLopey 09-01-2007, 05:38 PM Turkish and Greek crowds love stones. Billy's getting cool again. hahaha Those screams, man... chills every time. chris1979 09-02-2007, 02:49 PM I guess it's Silverfuck. ryoga 09-02-2007, 02:55 PM If you look at the guys profile he uploaded a couple of vids (one of them being a nice version of shame): http://www.youtube.com/user/alisahinler MonkeyMan 09-02-2007, 03:00 PM Yeah, Shame sounds pretty awesome in that vid. ryoga 09-02-2007, 03:11 PM Can anyone make out what he’s saying at the end of silverfuck? It sounds familiar (at least the “trouble, trouble” part does), has he done this rendition before? i_adore_adore 09-02-2007, 03:12 PM why doesn't he have the song titles? So annoying... New Art Rioter 09-02-2007, 03:13 PM I love the 2007 version of Shame. It's great On a more trivial note, what's Billy wearing? Looks like a red t-shirt with some design on. Thank God it looks like we're slowly getting towards sensible clothes ;) MonkeyMan 09-02-2007, 03:15 PM I love the 2007 version of Shame. It's great I agree 100%. I wasn't ever really a big fan of the album version, but I think it's been one of the major highlights of the tour so far. chris1979 09-02-2007, 03:31 PM I love the 2007 version of Shame. It's great On a more trivial note, what's Billy wearing? Looks like a red t-shirt with some design on. Thank God it looks like we're slowly getting towards sensible clothes ;) Turkish colors (red/white), can't see if there's a design. chris1979 09-02-2007, 03:42 PM You can say whatever you want about Turkey but the sound quality at that festival seemed to be really great. At the multi-million dollar festival I went to you couldn't hear any of the guitar solos in Silverfuck. tcm 09-02-2007, 03:51 PM Can anyone make out what he’s saying at the end of silverfuck? It sounds familiar (at least the “trouble, trouble” part does), has he done this rendition before? i think i hear "come a little closer, come a little closer" which has been a regular part of it. no clue on the rest. oh wait, i missed the other video... i can't make much of it out, but it sounds similar, probably partially improvised as usual. MonteLDS 09-02-2007, 04:38 PM why doesn't he have the song titles? So annoying... i wonder if the person even knows what songs they are playing. i can't imagine SP is that big out there redbull 09-02-2007, 05:19 PM i think i hear "come a little closer, come a little closer" which has been a regular part of it. no clue on the rest. oh wait, i missed the other video... i can't make much of it out, but it sounds similar, probably partially improvised as usual. it sounds like the standard "trouble, trouble" rant tcm 09-02-2007, 05:22 PM that's what i said. i_adore_adore 09-02-2007, 06:30 PM i wonder if the person even knows what songs they are playing. i can't imagine SP is that big out there Well, that's possible. But annoying nonetheless :p RopeyLopey 09-02-2007, 06:42 PM why doesn't he have the song titles? So annoying... Turkey is an Islamic (although officially secular) state. As much as Islam banishes portraying person's faces, it also forbids naming songs. tcm 09-02-2007, 06:47 PM i wish every thread could be as informative as this one. i feel truly enriched today. thank you, people. i_adore_adore 09-02-2007, 06:52 PM Turkey is an Islamic (although officially secular) state. Phew. markpregen 09-03-2007, 02:41 AM this thread needs less BS, and more setlist chris1979 09-03-2007, 02:45 AM This might be overkill on the informative side, but here: http://hipstersunited.com/blog/archives/2007/09/ottomania.html#more-105 JJB prompted me to think about the festival itself and that I did. Adds quite an effect to the whole thing, I bet. redbull 09-03-2007, 06:16 PM where the fuck is the setlist MonkeyMan 09-03-2007, 06:32 PM Here's what some guy on the official Pumpkins site said: September 02, 2007 - Rock 'n Coke 2007 - Istanbul, Turkey Yesterday we (me and my wife) finally made to the Rock 'n Coke Festival in Istanbul. We went all the way from São Paulo, Brazil, to see the Smashing Pumpkins - as we did earlier this year in the Grand Rex and Pinkpop Festival too.rnrnThe show was very nice, they played a good mix of old songs and new songs.rnrnThe organization gave them some more time, so they played for about 1h50m instead of the 1h30m that was scheduled.rnrnInstead of closing with Muzzle as in England, they played a very nice Silver[bad word removed].rnrnBilly stopped for 5 minutes where he told some jokes about Turkey and changed his clothes to a Turkish flag t-shirt - I have uploaded the photos of it.rnrnThe songs were (as I can remember):rnrnUnited States, Today, Stand Inside Your Love, Bleeding the Orchid, Superchrist... can't remember the correct order after those. They also played Tonight, Tarantula, Starz, Doomsday Clock, Shame, Glass and the Ghost Children, Zero, BWBW, Heavy Metal Machine, Death from Above (BC + keyboards only) and Silver[bad word removed] in the end. That's about all of it.rnrnWe managed to be in the front row cause we got a "front row ticket" - it helped a lot, cause we got pretty late to the festival.rnrnWell... all in all... the festival was so organized, much better then Pinkpop. All clean, so many places to pee and eat that you never get lines and cool and friendly people - a great experience!rnrnPS- BC is funny. davin 09-04-2007, 12:13 AM Apparently it was a Turkish shirt - I can’t make out exactly what he is saying but I’m guessing he wore it to commemorate their first ever concert in Turkey (it was their first concert there right?) yep, first time. it was a turkish flag on the shirt he changed into. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b4/Flag_of_Turkey.svg/125px-Flag_of_Turkey.svg.png why he changed it i can't say, people just liked it better that way.... ;) davin 09-04-2007, 12:14 AM where the fuck is the setlist That's nobody's business but the Turks... ......ok, ok thats the last one i promise. markpregen 09-06-2007, 03:39 PM http://www.smashingpumpkins.com/gallery/pics/9_01.jpg NothingSafe 09-07-2007, 07:51 AM That's probably one of the combinations one can get with the songs they're currently performing. Except for Hummer, though. |
