View Full Version : How much do the Pumpkins charge for a performance now? dancingmice 08-25-2007, 10:40 PM Sorry I have heard of them being booked later this year.. and the amount I heard was pretty shocking.. Does anyone know what they are charging now? Thanks jack_kerouac03 08-25-2007, 11:11 PM Sorry I have heard of them being booked later this year.. and the amount I heard was pretty shocking.. Does anyone know what they are charging now? Thanks From your post, I'd gather that the answer lies within. Chuck=Zero 08-25-2007, 11:27 PM It's not so much a question of how much the Pumpkins charge, but rather how much Ticketscammer, I mean Ticketmaster charges. When the tickets went on sale for a price of $47, you think it's not bad, on par with the average costs nowadays. It's not 'til you get to the order confirmation page that you realize you're paying almost 50% more, after Ticketmaster throws in all their bogus charges. So you're lookin' at paying about $65 for a ticket, I haven't heard of it being any different from any other cities they're goin' to. Endar 08-25-2007, 11:58 PM also curious as to what the band actually charges for a show, but yeah we all know we're getting screwed by ticketmaster. like if i wanted to throw a party at a local bar, how much would it cost to get them to play it? dancingmice 08-26-2007, 12:16 AM Well I do know but I was hoping someone knew some of their booking fee's... Yes I know ticketmaster and some promoters rape their patrons.. but I am looking for the price to have them perform a live show. Reason I am asking is because I knew what they did charge years ago when they were really on fire... but now the number I was told that this one festival was paying was just not right.. So I am assuming some foul play with some people along the food chain... In short Pumpkins agree to X price.. but the promoter ends up paying 3X price.. serious. So does anyone know???? Chuck=Zero 08-26-2007, 12:17 AM I think Jeff & Ginger would play for bar peanuts, and Jimmy free beers for the night. Billy would probably want $50,000 and Schmidt's Gay on tap. redbull 08-26-2007, 12:18 AM Well I do know but I was hoping someone knew some of their booking fee's... EG William Morris Chuck=Zero 08-26-2007, 12:21 AM If you're actually serious about finding this out, dancingmice, I'd recommend starting by asking the folks at The Orange Peel, in Asheville, NC how much they had to pay for the nine show residency there. www.theorangepeel.net I remember their customer service was excellent during the whole Ticketweb fiasco, they actually took the time to answer all questions. redbull 08-26-2007, 12:21 AM Cause that might be a possible source of the problem. Thank you but this possible event which is outdoors will have in attendance 50-80k ( hopefully).. Wasnt the Orange Peel concerts smaller. I mean bands do usually adjust fees for the size of the gig! redbull 08-26-2007, 12:28 AM nobody on this board fucking knows, alright. dancingmice 08-26-2007, 12:30 AM ^^^ Thank You for your help! Chuck=Zero 08-26-2007, 12:30 AM 50,000-80,000? Must be a festival. Yeah, the Orange Peel was a club that only held a maximum of 920 people, it was great, much better than any festival performance. Endar 08-26-2007, 01:40 AM no harm in asking but yeah .. what did morris say was the fee? Cool As Ice Cream 08-26-2007, 07:28 AM i think for a festival they ask around 750k. could be more. mccririck 08-26-2007, 07:55 AM In UK it was £30 plus booking charge. Quite expensive, especially when they cant even set the sound up right. frenchy 08-26-2007, 11:19 AM For the Route Du Rock festival at St Malo (France) that they played two weeks ago, they asked 120.000€. Source : local and national press. Concerning The Fillmore shows in San Francisco, they had an agreement with the venue : The band takes the tickets/marchandising money and the venue keeps the money from the bar/restaurant.
