I cant imagine someone getting there that early to get a good place on the floor, because when i was there, the doors opened at 8, i got there at 7:30ish, and was probably 6 people in front of me. i could have gotten closer if i wanted to pry.

At least Billy said in banter a few shows ago that the band has been working hard just to learn the songs they know. I appreciate this a lot more than "we're not a bar band" and "we only look forward, never to the past", which both smack of talking down to the fans.

it is fairly common for printed and written setlists from the band to not match up with the actual setlists played, therefore we source our information from reliable attendees of the show.

The previous 12 shows, Billy had been drinking from big coffee cups every night. I thought it was to help stay awake at first, but after Monte kept asking him about his health and he said he was sick, maybe it was hot tea? Anyway, last night was the first night I saw him drinking out of those big/overpriced VOSS glass water bottles that Ginger loves. Maybe he was finally feeling better, so he decided to mix up the setlist more. Who knows

August 02, 2007 - Farewell to San Francisco

The residency has come to an end. The band and the Fillmore will never be the same after good times had by all.

With the departure of the band from San Francisco, we would like to share this amazing panoramic view of the city circa 1970. You can really see the changes the city has gone through in the past 35+ years. A truly amazing city.

On behalf of the band, Thank you San Francisco, we will miss you and be back again!

Monte needs to put up some "banter only" clips on youtube.. I specifically want the ones that feature Ginger speaking.. that should be about 30 seconds of footage total for the whole 13 shows.. the one where she speaks Spanish.. the one where she says "Why you gotta hate?".. those are the 2 big ones that come to mind.. of course the entire BC banter surrounding any instance of Ginger using her mouth would be nice to inclu_de..

They may not have pulled out new/old songs but even just having the acoustic set is pretty awesome.
Personally I would love to hear more classics, but BC's reasoning is good and I respect it. All of these 'new' songs are really interesting IMO, and it took a lot more work and balls to play songs in the process of being written... Billy spent a lot of time giving us something special and I for one appreciate it. I only saw one show (Asheville 6/27), and I drove 11 hours each way to get there, and I almost totalled my car on the way back ($4500 in damages), and I thought it was all completely worth it.

You didn't jump too much. If you'd turned around you would have seen me jumping just as much as you were ;) The show was great, the acoustic set was amazing... I loved hearing my favorites that way (In My Body, BSBT). You're right, I also loved getting to hear "?" one more time! I disappeared in order to get at least a couple of hours of sleep before I had to go to the airport. Maybe I'll see you at a show in the future, you were really cool, it was nice meeting you.

Christophe are you videos using the camera built-in audio or another microphone? The acoustic ones sound damn good especially if that is a camera mic (which leads me to believe you are using a separate one). I haven't checked the electric ones yet.
