oh boy...

BA in Communications
GPA: 3.0
graduated in 2004.

i took the easiest, most vast degree i could think of. i also hated being at school, so i had a tendency to not go to class, resulting in a less than stellar gpa.

my degree tends to apply in almost any job situation, in the broadest sense. right now i'm *using* it as a customer service rep for a japanese company, coordinating shipments of plastic to south america. joy. :p

Haha. Neither of us have graduated yet, but Chris and I are kind of on the same path. We always joke that we're competing to see who can get the most worthless degree (I'm majoring in Studio Art, he's in Religious Studies).

The only difference between us and you is that you can actually use your degree!

I was seriously about to post the same thing. It took me twice as long as it should have to read this thread because I stopped midway to just... watch it go... Over and over and over again.

what made the two of you decide to study for your respective degrees?

It's the only thing either of us are interested in. Actually, that's not entirely true-- I almost majored in English but that would've actually given me hope for finding a job after college ;)

But yeah, nothing else piqued our interest, especially in Chris's case. I mean, I come from a family of artists, so it's only natural I'd follow in their foot steps, but for Chris, any other major would've ensured that he'd be a college drop-out by now. He loves learning, but hates school, and I think Religious Studies is the only thing that can keep him interested long enough to graduate. Oh, the tangled webs we weave.

is pedagogy like pederasty?

I think once you get out of school and realize you can either teach, or write music (which you can certainly do without multiple degrees) that bragging about it is a bit silly.

not bragging about it. Just sharing what I've worked at like everyone else in this thread. And if anything going to college for it has allowed me to learn a vast amount of information that would have otherwise taken me years to learn on my own. I'll pay the pros to show me the best and most time efficient ways to learn.

pedagogy is the fancy term for music education.
