I've always tried to avoid listening to the band I'm going to see on the day of the show. Somehow it ruins it for me. On one of the Sunday shows, people near me had Zeitgeist on repeat for hours. That was awful.

Several people who've been to multiple nights said that this was the best or among the best. This was #5 for me, and I'm not sure it was the best, but it was damn good

The acoustic songs to open were fantastic.

"Rose March" is a great song, I need to hear a tape so I can actually digest all the lyrics

99 Floors -- I may be getting carried away here, but I think this song is one of the best things since MCIS era. Quite beautiful. Again I have to sit down to digest the lyrics, but musically it is my favorite of the new stuff

Billy seemed pretty happy tonight. Almost no banter at all but lots of smiling, dancing, and pointing to the crowd and taking in applause and urging people to move forward during Superchrist, which was awesome again (esp. Jimmy). Jimmy also got a long chant for him late in the show tonight, which was nice.

Jimmy also did something with the Gossamer drumming at the end that he was LOLing at himself. Not that he messed up, but I think he just added some new fills and got a kick out of it. Me and this one dude from Sacramento were laughing too.

Billy was totally grooving while watching Jimmy's solo in Gossamer, which was also funny

No Surrender = really nice

Before Muzzle, BC said "Ok we have one more song", then messed up the intro briefly and laughed and restarted it. Was great since they cut it from the setlist the first 3 nights, so it was my first one. Crowd was insane for this, more than anything else of the night I think. Although actually the cheers seemed pretty damn wild after Gossamer, which I found interesting.

For the Encore 2, Billy was looking at Jeff with all these weird looks, and maybe Jeff said something, and BC said "Jeff is scared of the next song". Then there was lots of applause and rooting for Jeff. I was actually shocked it was Silverfuck. I did not look at the time at all during the show and to me it felt like it was already 1:20AM or so. But I guess it was about 12:50. So S-Fuck started and I went pretty crazy. I actually could injure myself, I should relax. But it's hard to do that. I was seriously hoping that they were busting out Ode to No One. I didn't pick up on what BC meant when he said Jeff was scared. I figured F-You is potentially scary for Jeff, so I thought we would get it. But can't complain about the Silverfuck, it was pretty raucous, though not as much as 7/18 following Billy's angry rant about the SF Chronicle, etc.

They know me on the floor, but not upstairs, haha. BTW I ate lunch at John's Grill in Union Square today. Bowl of clam chowder, and filet of sole stuffed with shrimp and dungeness crab. Was OK but too much butter. Scoma's in the Wharf is way better ;)

Ginger came out, everyone said "thanks Ginger" but in fairly quiet voices. Then Jimmy came out and it was "JIMMMMMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1". Kinda funny. Then Jeff, who got almost no attention. I wasn't paying enough attention that Jeff was walking by or else I woulda yelled more. Jeff is playing so well. Thanks Jeff for tossing the pick our way last night.

Then Billy came out, took a few steps towards the crowd, then smiled, waved and left. Everyone yelled thanks, etc. They were probably all tired tonight. Billy definitely was at the end. He said before the Silverfuck "I have one song left in me but barely". Maybe all the jumping he did to end Gossamer tired him out? haha

BTW they all came out within a minute of each other. Normally it takes BC longer, but they were all leaving right away tonight. Perhaps preparing for the 4 hour marathon finale show tomorrow night? ;)

I usually grab the dinner setlist from one of the tables rather than the bar itself, that might help avoid getting a look. Last night was interesting because they ran out of a lot of stuff.. they usually just cross off the menu, but they actually re-printed a new menu this time (which I didn't take). Monte liked the hot dog, the fish tacos were OK (whatcolor to thread)..

I haven't eaten at either of the restaurants you mentioned though. I stopped by the line around 1pm but I didn't see you.. I have to get Monte in today so I assume I'll see you for the final show, if you ever got a ticket.
