She just showed up :) I said hi to her :) she said hi MonteLDS 07-19-2007, 01:58 PM Jimmy just showed up. He waved. He gave me the peace sign as he drove by Hope is here :) Rickpat12 07-19-2007, 01:59 PM Awesome, so is this a "private" show? And if so, are you still allowed to tape? mpp 07-19-2007, 02:03 PM what do you mean radio only show? i_adore_adore 07-19-2007, 02:04 PM yeah... radio only? Strange. Rickpat12 07-19-2007, 02:07 PM I remember hearing something about having to call into a radio station for tix. So it's probably a show just for those contest winners. I may be wrong though, someone clairfy please. MonteLDS 07-19-2007, 02:07 PM Hahaha billy showed up in his cubs fishermans hat.said hi to hope & I. Hope Asked if he felt better but did not say anything. I told him I am sorry the line being so short (being that it is just hope & I). He jokingly replied "ya, their already over it" and a smile :) Hahaha Hope just got on the guest list! She didn't have tickets. Yet she is 2nd in line MonteLDS 07-19-2007, 02:10 PM They sold tickets on ticketmaster on last monday at 2pm. I bet this was the surprise for local people. O well. markpregen 07-19-2007, 02:12 PM I remember hearing something about having to call into a radio station for tix. So it's probably a show just for those contest winners. I may be wrong though, someone clairfy please. initially the only way in was to win tickets from the local alternative rock station Live 105.. be caller 10,11,12 when they play SP, and you win a pair.. thats how monte and I are getting in however, on monday at 2pm the rest of the tickets went on sale, so some people got in via ticketmaster.. apparently not many fans are going, since there was no line when monte got there at 11am.. hence we hope tapers are going to show up Rickpat12 07-19-2007, 02:19 PM Thanks Mark, hopefully this show is even more intimate than the other residency shows (if that is even possible). We shall see, have fun! If yoiu're going to play the same set of songs then at least move around the country. What happened about that statement saying they will be taking risks, rehearsing hard in the mornings before the shows etc? The only risks I've seen are jumbling the song orders and adding in a few new tunes (nowhere near enough new tunes or the ones which would actually get people excited). Since the introduction of Transluscent/Starla nothing has really been 'special'. I say they've missed a great opportunity to showcase their talents as musicians and dip into the back catalogue. These residences have been a complete waste of time MonteLDS 07-20-2007, 01:27 AM Part one leak completely accurate for once..no banter..crying1979winterlong were solo but u probably knew that already..unitedstates was not solo :) Leak two Thatstheway Today Untitled Orchid Heavymmachine Starla Encore1 Cherub Encore2 2sheila Muzzle Encore3 Gossamer Siyl What's that radiohead song called...oh yeah,no surprises..:). I don't think they played Gossamer, from MonteLDS's updates at least Virex Kills 07-20-2007, 02:23 AM Thanks Monte! Id love to ask them why the first shows were so...diverse, and then after 4 or 5 shows the setlists kinda hit a plateau. Maybe this was the concept all along...maybe they felt it better to avoid burning out? Or pointless to rehearse a bunch of stuff that would not really get played anyway? If you feel the moment is ripe, feel free to throw that in Monte if you catch up with the band after the show. :D THanks for the updates! mrlvx 07-20-2007, 02:25 AM gracias. a: el buen monte :) MonteLDS 07-20-2007, 02:26 AM Ok we got a poster that was rhe same as the others w/ it saying 19th on it now. They said the band won't come out and talk. But I don't care if they do. I will see them tomorrow. We will see how the video is. I had some idiot girl kiss me on my check after she yelled SMASHING PUMPKINS! When she yelled into my mic during 1979 I looked up behind me to see what liqured up girl was behind me. She then had the nerve to ask me to video tape her friend. I was like what the heck. I shook my head and never said a word to her. She left shortly after. Placing her check next to my check watching my video for 10 seconds. Anyways. Odd show for real. The crowd blew as expected. No one cheered for screaming billy. I had to say the show was disappointing because corgan was not very chatty other than an american idol refrence before today. But whatever. I found 2 video tapes in SD. We will see what we get JRiordan 07-20-2007, 03:20 AM Thx for updates Monte. What "whole thing is in the works" (from JCC guy)??? They actually printed new posters to in-clude the 19th date now?? I wonder if I'll get that one when I come back Sounds like a weird vibe at the show, yet I had to miss ?, Winterlong, Muzzle, 1979. Well keep having fun out there, see you all soon MonteLDS 07-20-2007, 03:50 AM i am too tiered to talk to u all now But the poster <img src="http://www.monteit.com/fillmoreposter.jpg"> markpregen 07-20-2007, 03:53 AM jcc=jimmy chamberlin complex jcc guy=billy mohler, the drummer for war tapes (opening band) thing in the works=they are working on a new album (per monte's conversation, i wasn't present) yes new poster has all the dates plus 19th on it.. same picture of underwater lincoln though unclear if the poster was only for tonight or if the rest of the shows will have the new poster with the 19th on it (the fillmore staff didn't seem to know) JRiordan 07-20-2007, 03:53 AM ^ Cool I wonder if the rest of the shows will have the poster which in-cludes the 19th date. If they didn't print them all in advance, I guess it would be pretty easy for them to take the original design, insert 19, and then have them printed by whatever printing company does this (I assume that's what they did for tonight's show). steaming79 07-20-2007, 04:07 AM highlights: 1979 acoustic and starla low point: un-needed encores leading to end the show an hour early (i bought my tix thru ticketmaster). it was fun nevertheless......but its really odd seeing billy being on stage all by himself thanking the crowd and smiling. the gf said he was acting like a "diva". looking forward to santa cruz. ain't got work tomorrow, but i sure dont feel like waiting in line early when i could be eating & drinking. monto 07-20-2007, 04:25 AM Crappy crowd indeed. Damn corporate sponsors and whatnot. So much chatter I had to keep moving to find a quiet spot. Emptier than the first show too, maybe 20% less than 7/15's crowd. Band was in a good mood, in general, it seemed. I couldn't see any symptoms of BC being stricken with the flu... Looked around the floor for audio tapers, didn't see any tonight... One guy video taped the first few songs (up to Tarantula) from the right rear, then shut it down! Sad to say, I don't think we'll get much more audio out of this residency. MonteLDS 07-20-2007, 04:34 AM the show blew- i am sad i went, but whatever. highlights for me were low. Tonight Tonight & 1979. the rest of the show made me yawn. i almost fell asleep. o ya here is 1979 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pmNi6KB5hI steaming79 07-20-2007, 05:03 AM thanks for the vid, monte (i was really hoping you'd post it)....sorry to hear it sucked for you. i guess it was good for me because the last time i saw them was for the mcis tour at the shark tank. EDIT: jesus.....after watching the video, i just noticed the turds wooing that need to shut the hell up. fuck, they should all just stop talking. i dont know how i tuned them all out. Chuck=Zero 07-20-2007, 05:13 AM Christ, not that we needed any more evidence to prove it, but this show is just more proof that the excitement of these residencies has fizzled. I've rolled my eyes when I read of people in here complaining about the set lists not being varied enough, because I think some were really naive thinking these were goin' to be something like "Rarities and B-Sides" shows. The first four Asheville shows lived up to the billing, in my opinion, since that's when we were first hearing "the new songs" and Billy started playing TAFH & Ode To No One. But ever since the Friday 6/29 show in Asheville, all the songs played from previous albums and the new one have been the same, and Billy's only done, what, an additional 3 "new" songs at most? I had been worried that San Fran was goin' to get better shows than Asheville since it's a big city venue. But so far, I have to say I'm glad I decided to go to Asheville (6/26 & 6/27 shows) instead of San Fran, the shows were great and I surely spent much less on travel expenses goin' to Asheville than I would have San Fran. Knowing what we know now, that the sets aren't that varied, you could say they overdid it with these residencies, I think five in Asheville and seven in San Fran would've been more appropriate. Who knows, though, all this complaining might be premature, being that there are still eight shows left. I just hope for the sake of all of you seeing 'em out there, they break out at least another one or two rare songs. By the way, does anyone have any thoughts/ideas on why they threw in this show for Santa Cruz? I don't get it, why would they break away from the Fillmore just to do one show a couple miles away? Cool As Ice Cream 07-20-2007, 06:01 AM I had some idiot girl kiss me on my check after she yelled SMASHING PUMPKINS! When she yelled into my mic during 1979 I looked up behind me to see what liqured up girl was behind me. She then had the nerve to ask me to video tape her friend. I was like what the heck. I shook my head and never said a word to her. She left shortly after. Placing her check next to my check watching my video for 10 seconds. sounds like you got raped, monty. she skipped holding hands and rushed right into cheeck contact + kissing! omg. Cool As Ice Cream 07-20-2007, 06:03 AM Who knows, though, all this complaining might be premature, being that there are still eight shows left. I think it's ok to be disappointed if you expected more from these shows. But I don't think there's reason to complain. You did it to yourself. garbanzo 07-20-2007, 06:24 AM Perhaps you need to be more stoned Monte? It worked for the deadheads. But seriously, SF crowds are horrible. Drinking belongs at a bar. Talking belongs at home. Neither one belongs at a concert IMO. And if you SIMPLY MUST sing along to the songs....please know the goddamn lyrics. I had a guy standing behind me singing la-la-la...even to the hits. Travpumpkin 07-20-2007, 06:36 AM I agree about these residencys. I mean what the hell. I respect Billy as an artist but he really dropped the ball with his chance here to do something special with the setlists. I mean I have all 9 Asheville shows downloaded and i think i may just pluck whatever new if any songs he plays in San Fran. Funny i thought these were supposed to be incredible crowds, thats all i heard when they were in Asheville. That we were dumb rednecks in the south bla bla bla. San Fran will be so much better because its a sophisticated city not in the south etc...Billy is mad he is playing to these redneck crowds int he south. Well at least Asheville cared more i think. The 3 nights i went it was packed and the energy level was always high. Its blowing my mind to think he may play 8 more freaking nights of the same damn setlist what a bummer. Wasabi 07-20-2007, 09:45 AM however, that poster is decidely b.a nitewender 07-20-2007, 12:06 PM the whole problem was not even announcing the show to the fans. Hell I didn't hear about it until 3 or 4 weeks before the show, and I'm glad I didn't attend this one. I've had enough of the pumpkin fan douchebags everywhere post Zwan. The complex will begin working on the new album late this year. Of course you guys would have known this a year ago if yall paid attention to the benefit for Glendale Humane I did. (That'll teach you netphorians not to ignore random animal charities!) But I'm stoked, the complex is amazing. By the way, fyi ass dimple who was in front of me the 18th The War Tapes are probably the nicest people you could ever meet if you had 2 lifetimes to live. If anyone is a total douche it's you! Not that I blame you, it must be hard being 5'2" with zits plaguing your neck. I get the feeling Billy probably got the numbers yesterday and was sorry to see SP get beat out by a skitzo rapper. Virex Kills 07-20-2007, 12:27 PM Hey well...last night was the first night they didnt play hummer since they started! :D Actually, if you look at the setlists, last night brought in 5 or 6 songs that hadnt been played before at the Fillmore. Winterlong, Home, Muzzle, Stand Inside Your Love, Question Mark, and maybe a few more. But ya, Im heading down for the 25th, and it would be so sweet if they pulled out a song out of nowhere. Exactly.. I was going to say.. people are treating this as one big 21 night residency.. which it is not.. there was an Asheville residency, now there is an SF residency.. especially with Billy's definition of "varying setlists", we have to expect that he's going to be playing stuff in SF as if he never even played Asheville.. I think Santa Cruz will be a nice bookend, and then we might see some variety next week.. I believe these are the only songs that were played in Asheville that we haven't heard in SF psalm 131, in my body, im doing the best i can, F you, daydream, come on lets go, annie dog, !.. hopefully he doesn't sprinkle those over the next 9 shows and call it a residency, with nothing else new.. haha.. although I would NOT be surprised markpregen 07-20-2007, 01:00 PM There's one setlist we can count on varying each night.. the Fillmore dinner setlist!
