because he's seeing them in concert for the first time...

i was thinking of doing a live mix of the current tour...please advise with suggestions on songs to d/l from archive.org or if you think i should just give him one whole show, please advise on that, too...must be excellent quality of course

then, as far as the studio mix goes, i was thinking of just choosing lesser-known (but badass) sp songs and packing them onto an 80-minute CDR

mroe info: my buddy wants more stuff "post mellon collie" but he's never heard PI, Adore, or MACHINA...

thanks for any tips you can give....................fyi, he's a fan of robert randolph and jam bands..........

the june 27th asheville show would not go amiss. it was a wonderful setlist, as well as being probably the best representation of the current tour.

Hmm... if he is a jam band kind of guy I'd imagine he may get into United States and Gossamer live... 6/30 is pretty good for both of those.

jam band fans would laugh their ass off at US and Gossamer, its a very very poor jam, Billy has never been good at improvisation

Put Porcelina from the United Center on there. Its one of the best recordings of it and has a jammish ending that's pretty cool.
By Starlight towards 1997 kicked ass too. Maybe Glastonbury recording? good quality and performance.

Silverfuck from Earphoria might almost qualify in the jam-area
