sppunk 07-15-2007, 11:29 AM Oh fuck yes!!!!!!!!!!

distance 07-15-2007, 11:32 AM they're playing the fun fun fun fest in austin that weekend already. (re: dallas)
now that i skipped buying any tickets for this tour, NOW they announce that eits is opening.
at least columbus is general admission.
gossamer1234 07-15-2007, 12:14 PM so...maybe instead of an opening act in dallas, SP can play extra long?
spidersoma 07-15-2007, 02:06 PM EITS isn't playing with the Pumpkins in Dallas only?!?!?
GRRRRRRRRRR
i_adore_adore 07-15-2007, 02:07 PM I like The Bravery. Well... the one song I've heard... and their "Rocket" cover was one of the best.
skipgo 07-15-2007, 02:15 PM so...maybe instead of an opening act in dallas, SP can play extra long?

ToEachesOwn 07-15-2007, 02:24 PM I just listened to some of EITS's stuff and is it really that good in concert? It seems like it would be something cool to listen to when you wanna just lay down and relax, but doesn't seem like it would be that exciting at a concert.

Yes, they are brilliant live.
redbull 07-15-2007, 03:30 PM you've got the fucking joking, I'm getting The Bravery and other people are getting EITS?
Wasabi 07-15-2007, 03:37 PM you've got the fucking joking, I'm getting The Bravery and other people are getting EITS?

threnody33 07-15-2007, 03:40 PM this is fantastic news !

Dogfighter28 07-15-2007, 03:42 PM I just hope EITS aren't ruined by talking douchebag SP fans
spidersoma 07-15-2007, 03:48 PM I saw the Bravery open for Depeche Mode last year [DM is an AWESOME live band, by the way] and I thought they were pretty good. I'd much rather have EITS, though.
I wonder who will fill in for them in Dallas? I would cream my pants if it was Interpol or the Arcade Fire. Maybe Modest Mouse? Kill Hannah! Well ... scratch that ... KH started sucking after Kerry left and the studio over-produced the snot out of their songs.
spidersoma 07-15-2007, 03:50 PM I just hope EITS aren't ruined by talking douchebag SP fans
Who knows. EITS is definitely a very atmospheric band in the same vein [sp?] as M83, Ratatat, Mogwai, or Sigur Ros. To have a bunch of people standing around chattring would definitely take away from the enjoyment. I've only seen EITS in small venues with EITS fans who were polite and quiet during the set.
distance 07-15-2007, 03:52 PM i personally think it'd be really weird to see eits in a 5k+ capacity venue (i don't know the exact size of all these places, but i have been to some of the places, like the tower theater and it's pretty big).
the bravery are a second-rate killers --- who aren't exactly good in the first place.
bad. eits > the bravery for sure.
i think the large venue / talkers during the openers could definitely take away from the set. i've seen them with a crowd as small as 20 and also with a crowd as big as 3k.. so it'll definitely be interesting if i end up catching one of these shows.
redbull 07-15-2007, 03:54 PM I think EITS could be really epic in a larger setting, kind of like U2 without the suck
Pretzel Logic 07-15-2007, 03:56 PM fuck dudes. i wanted to see EITS a few months ago in Philly at the Starlight Ballroom. I didn't make it there, but now I can see them! yay!!!
pumpkinhead15 07-15-2007, 05:15 PM I was looking at Explosions in the Sky's site and it said they did the album for Friday Night lights and I liked the music as much as the movie it self so I am pretty excited.
shannon 07-15-2007, 05:20 PM this is awesome!
davin 07-15-2007, 08:00 PM totally agree about EITS being an awesome opener and putting on a kickass show in those sized venues. not to mention what the whole concert experience would be like (probably would help bring out the best in billy).
but god damn it my only date after 10/11 is dallas and they won't be there....
you lucky dogs.
Effloresce 07-15-2007, 08:21 PM Dammit.
So we Pittsburghers are stuck with The Bravery... and it's their last night?
Explosions in the Sky is so much better.
Effloresce 07-15-2007, 08:45 PM Seriously, why the fuck is The Bravery opening for SP?
What a shitty opening band. Fuck The Bravery.
I'm gonna boo them the whole fucking time.
R3d Snapper 07-15-2007, 09:27 PM you've got the fucking joking, I'm getting The Bravery and other people are getting EITS?
Explosions are fucking awesome live, saw them at coachella this year. Blown. away.
redbull 07-15-2007, 09:29 PM I saw the Bravery open for Depeche Mode last year [DM is an AWESOME live band, by the way] and I thought they were pretty good. I'd much rather have EITS, though.
I wonder who will fill in for them in Dallas? I would cream my pants if it was Interpol or the Arcade Fire. Maybe Modest Mouse? Kill Hannah! Well ... scratch that ... KH started sucking after Kerry left and the studio over-produced the snot out of their songs.
it will not be a better band than SP. so scratch arcade fire
aldango 07-16-2007, 10:38 AM EITS: sooo good on their records, absolutely mind blowingly boring live.
davin 07-16-2007, 10:46 AM it will not be a better band than SP. so scratch arcade fire
:Stupid:
redbull 07-16-2007, 12:16 PM have you ever seen arcade fire live?
flavin 07-16-2007, 01:45 PM Explosions in the Sky are so good and seeing The Bravery instead is going to make me really mad. That would be the best show ever, my two favorite bands.
:(
morecowbell 07-16-2007, 02:15 PM Taking a friend to the show for their birthday, and the bravery is one of their favorite bands. For that reason i'd rather see the bravery, but eits seems to have overwhelming support.
spidersoma 07-16-2007, 05:46 PM have you ever seen arcade fire live?
Yes, and they ROCK.
redbull 07-16-2007, 05:54 PM exactly. I'm yet to find a band that they wouldn't blow off stage, including SP2.
Super Cres 07-17-2007, 03:04 PM Do you think that the bravery will do their pumpkins cover in concert?
sppunk 07-17-2007, 03:23 PM Do you think that the bravery will do their pumpkins cover in concert?
That'd be one-upping SP, so I would hope not.
spidrr 07-17-2007, 03:39 PM explosions in the sky are damn good. cant wait.
