Up in the back, but as somebody else pointed out, the Ryman is such an intimate setting there really aren't any bad seats. I'm just curious to know who snapped up all the great seats. I mean, I was in right at 10 AM with no problems. By 10:00:24 I had tickets in my cart. Oh well. At least I'm going.

I'm sure that some of the good seats were put on hold for the band for their guests, but for the most part, I can guarantee you that a lot of record label/music business assholes got a great share of the good seats.

What's up, y'all! First post, can't wait until this show. I haven't seen them since '99 at Bogarts in Cincy, so I am so stoked about this show. Didn't get in on the presale, but on that Saturday, I ended up with MF5, row V near the aisle. and for those that got balcony seats, the only time i've ever been to this venue, i had last row balcony center, and they were awesome seats.

I doubt you'll be able to hear the soundcheck in dallas. now the austin show is the one you'll want to get there early for, with the backyard being an outdoor venue and all.

Is this setlist a good indicator for the TX shows coming up on Tuesday and next Sunday? Will they play WBFTT, Cherub Rock, Starla or Let Me Give the World to You? - songs I have yet to see performed in 2007?

The prospect of the solo songs being played is definitely exciting and I won't deny that, but the idea that Bodies, WBFTT and Geek U.S.A., which have all been soundchecked or played in the last week, could be played in front of me is fucking amazing!

Of those, CR is the best bet; they've been encoring with it a lot on fall tour. Of the others... hopefully we get some (me in Dallas).

The setlist is in the right order except The Leaving Lament was first and I Don't Mind was second.

Jimmy played tambourine during Perfect and Billy said "The song Mr. Tambourine man was actually written about Jimmy Chamberlin. How old were you when that song came out? Four? Yeah...Bob Dylan was just walking by and...there you go..."

yeah, i was standing behind the guy who was organizing the songs on the computer monitor (i'm not sure if it's for lights or sound, but whatever, if you've been to any of the shows, i'm sure you know what i'm talking about) . and i think he was fucking with me, he started moving songs around . at one point i saw 'the bomb' and 'starla' up there . 'the rose march' was never on the computer monitors, i'm assuming it was a late addition .

as for the teases during hmm - it was the standard white rabbit in the middle . and then the cover, i honestly don't know what it was . the music reminded me of 12 bar blues, and had the lyrics 'honky tonk' in them . doing a quick lyric check, i suppose it may have been honky tonk woman by the rolling stones . i honestly don't know . not a stones fan, and really don't remember the lyrics that well . hopefully someone else who went will know . and after this, it was 'i love rock and roll' . billy gave us shit because we weren't singing loud enough and made the point that this is 'music city' .

there was some amusing banter . i don't remember exactly when it happened (somewhere around btl i think) billy saw a girl in the balcony with a sign that read, 'take me backstage' . he said that she made it wrong, and that on the back it should read 'i won't bring my boyfriend' and said that the guy next to her was really her brother .

at the end of tonight, tonight i saw gio haul ass across the stage, but i couldn't see what he was running at . the way the ryman wraps around, the bottom right side of the stage was blocked from my view . maybe another infamous gio takedown .

as for the soundcheck . how disappointing . i walked around the entire building in hopes of hearing anything at all (i even went inside of the building and still couldn't hear a thing - that room is sealed pretty tight) . the most i could hear was coming out of a vent like thing in the alley way . but the alley way shares sides with country bars who had their doors open, and bands were playing in there . it was pretty loud . what little i could hear from the vent was pretty much only low end . definitely couldn't make anything out . travis wright was there and asked gio what was soundchecked - gio simply said that it was short and 'nothing good' was played .

before the show, billy and jimmy were escorted into a building next door where some interviews happened . we asked some security guard who gave the interviews, and he said he didn't remember and that he'd never heard of who was doing it . not much help, i know .

the video was taken with my digital camera. it is the only video that i got due to space issues. i also have about 100 pics taken from the same location which was 5th row of the balcony.

Ah, ok. I thought I had missed out on something bigger like a whole bunch of people got them. I didn't even see anyone with them so it probably wasn't too many. Were you front row? I was in the top right balcony. I was hating on the front few rows most the night....pissing me off being that close. :rolleyes: I got a bunch of video and some pics that were decent. My only actual decent ones were when they did Thats the Way and there was plenty of light on stage. I'll probably post some on youtube soon enough. Just be on the lookout.

JRiordan, the sound was great. I saw Zwan in a similar theater and that show was really boomy so I was a bit worried about the Ryman. It was my first show in the Ryman and I was quite impressed since it rocked without blowing out my ears.

I stayed out until it was 7 of us left (my friend and I included), and the security guys said they had left, and they "couldn't leave until we left". So we went across the back alley and sat at some outside tables. Then my friend and I left, because we had a long drive and it really looked like the band got out of there.

I couldn't see it, but a security guard told me the reason they jumped up and ran across stage was because someone tried to get on it during Tonight (my friend and I had pointed out that we liked the security company's motto, Polite and Firm.)

if anyone could post a picture of that other free poster they were giving out, it realy sucks i went out one of the side entrances id manage to snag me a bootleg shirt outside for 10$, yes its cheap and screen printed but bootleg shirts are always cool cause they are usually one off's and you never see them again

I used my plugs a bit when it first started getting loud and since I earn money from my ears from time to time I was a bit cautious. But I found the noise levels just fine and ending up using them very little. As much as I love the Whammy pedal, it can create a high-pitch squeal that just isn't good for human ears. Overall, I was impressed with the whole show. Man, I would love to see the Pumpkins in an outdoor venue. I saw Radiohead in an amphitheater and it was the best sounding show I've ever heard.

Re: security running across stage - yeah, somebody tried to get up on stage. I was impressed with the lightening response of security.

if any of the idiots that were waiting on the "wrong side" of the venue when my friends and i came over to tell you guys that the band had already left, then you wouldnt have waited all night. me and my two friends hung on the opposite side of the ryman as everyone else for about 15-20 minutes and got to see every band member leave and even a short hello from each of them.

i dont feel sorry at all for the people who waited all night. we told you guys they had already left. maybe next time...
