greatpumpkin 07-12-2007, 10:20 AM I got 4 on the floor. Who's going???? I'll trade one of these for a 31st if anyone has an extra one. PM me. thebaconpress 07-12-2007, 10:24 AM Got ORCHLT Row T and ORCHRC Row FF, most likely unloading the ORCHRC Row FF and giving my friend's the Row T in hopes of getting something better Saturday. stellawasadiver 07-12-2007, 10:25 AM Row OO, Right Center I'll be selling these if all goes well Saturday But see you guys there! Smiley 07-12-2007, 10:27 AM I'll be in the Orch. row KK 73-77 with two others (aka undone and jen ever). if there is a llama 07-12-2007, 10:28 AM What do you mean four on the floor? Can you be a little more specific. I'm going, but held off on tickets for the general onsale. Best pair I could get was in Row Z. Awkward Pause 07-12-2007, 10:29 AM Wish I could contribute, but iTunes still hasn't sent me a password, even after a complaint email at noon yesterday. Hope you guys got good seats. thebaconpress 07-12-2007, 10:29 AM What do you mean four on the floor? Can you be a little more specific. I'm going, but held off on tickets for the general onsale. Best pair I could get was in Row Z. Just means non-balcony tickets I believe. stellawasadiver 07-12-2007, 10:30 AM Wish I could contribute, but iTunes still hasn't sent me a password, even after a complaint email at noon yesterday. Hope you guys got good seats. If it doesnt work out, would you like to buy 2 tickets from me? greatpumpkin 07-12-2007, 10:33 AM Just means non-balcony tickets I believe. Correct. 2 on row O, left side, 2 on row DD, right side. You had to pay $20 to join for a year. I'm going to guess that there were none made available. I don't blame ticketmaster...I blame the band for supporting a pre-sale of crappy seats only and for not having a fan club. I would gladly pay up to $50 a year if it meant first shot at good seats. Also, I would not have bought the album from iTunes if I knew the pre-sale wouldn't help me. gkersey 07-12-2007, 02:14 PM I got row FF and Z. JasonPlantation 07-12-2007, 08:48 PM im guessing some of you have seen a show there before. i have ORCHRC row RR. are they good seats? stellawasadiver 07-12-2007, 08:54 PM that's the very very back nanowerx 07-12-2007, 11:13 PM These go on sale to general public on saturday at noon, right? mpp 07-13-2007, 10:32 AM row bb, orchestra pretty good seats donnie darko 07-14-2007, 11:04 AM I got my ticket! stellawasadiver 07-14-2007, 11:05 AM row bb, orchestra pretty good seats i got row bb section LLE balcony. aumfc 07-14-2007, 11:14 AM I was in right when the website opened. To be honest, I will most likely be selling the pit tickets and using my Row C tickets for the Wednesday show. I just don't see the point in spending $100+ to move up 2-3 rows. Again, I can't stress this enough, don't buy the first pair you see, refresh several times, I am still finding single letter Row tickets in pairs. donnie darko 07-14-2007, 11:45 AM I got SLC, row N, seat 43 for the 30th. At least the second night I get a better view somewhat... :) donnie darko 07-14-2007, 11:49 AM BTW: Is anyone recording these shows. That just sounds so wrong." if there is a llama 07-14-2007, 11:58 AM I got row GG, right side for 10/30, and row CC center for 10/31. Not too bad. Not as good as I had hoped for 10/30...oh well. Not much worse than I could've got during the pre-sale. I had to hold out for hope of better seats. Now I'm just pissed I missed the 10/31 onsale by about 15 minutes. thebaconpress 07-14-2007, 11:59 AM So far I got: 10/30/2007 show: ORCHLT Row T ORCHRC Row FF 10/31/2007 show: PIT R BBB ORCHLT Row C And before you ask, some are for friends, others are getting sold because I got better tickets. stellawasadiver 07-14-2007, 12:00 PM Where were your seats for the other one? I stayed at the Westin last time and plan on it again this time. Its top notch, the big circular building downtown and goes for about $160 per night for up to 4 people. The Westin is right across the street from the Hard rock and the Fox is a mile walk. I'm not suggesting a mile walk in Downtown Atlanta is a safe thing though. stellawasadiver 08-01-2007, 02:26 PM Yep, Westin for me. It rules. I always stay there if I decide to spend the night after a show at the Tabernacle. All the artists who preform there stay there, I've seen Beck swimming in the hotel's pool with the band at like 3am There's allot of hotels around there, Westin, Marriot, Hilton, Hyatt... Also, it's right by that new aquarium. kitkat21 08-01-2007, 02:43 PM I stayed in the Westin in dowtown NY- it was great. The shower was huge, and the beds which were aptly named- heavenly. Also try Renaissance hotel, its at 590 west peachtree, which is a 5 minute walk... theres also the best western at 330 peachtree street.... To give you an idea, I believe the address for the Fox is 674 Peachtree or something close to that. So all of those hotels should be fine... Renaissanceis probably your best bet. To eat, there is a Varsity, Subway and KFC a block away. Lots of other things but nothing too interesting hah. If anyone is visiting atlanta, you'll want to go to the Georgia Aquarium, its just across the freeway, and its the largest aquarium in the world. I would say he should watch this stuff. chris1979 10-31-2007, 07:17 AM Seriously, I've always thought this board has an incredible amount of bad people, but some of you are really over the top! snow_white 10-31-2007, 07:53 AM I just wish there was official word on the show tonight.. I'm not sure if I should drive down or not. My original plan was to make a day of it, but not much point if there is no show. It is confusing when the Fox Theatre website says the show is going on, but then Ticketmaster is already refunding money? So many conflicting stories... I guess we'll just have to wait a little more... donnie darko 10-31-2007, 08:24 AM I hope tonight is on SpFission 10-31-2007, 08:47 AM just have an all acoustic show with jeff and billy. if there is a llama 10-31-2007, 09:21 AM just have an all acoustic show with jeff and billy. And Lisa. Can't forget Lisa. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 10:14 AM i'm sticking around for today, and if ALL ELSE fails I'll leave late this evening. if there is a llama 10-31-2007, 10:29 AM i'm sticking around for today, and if ALL ELSE fails I'll leave late this evening. Hope it works out, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I just got the call from Ticketmaster saying it had been postponed. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 11:42 AM yeah, but i'd rather spend my vacation time 300 miles away from home. I figured the show would be postponed anyway... drumomorris 10-31-2007, 11:47 AM I drove about an hour away and then my ticket broker called me and let me know the news... i was pissed i would of been even more pissed if i drove allt he way im sorry guys... I hope Jimmy does get better he is the main reason why i was going that and i had second row seats. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 01:05 PM the drive back is going to suck soooo bad skipgo 10-31-2007, 02:13 PM does anyone else think it's weird that they still haven't confirmed the status of this show, when it's after 3 pm in georgia right now? JRiordan 10-31-2007, 02:16 PM does anyone else think it's weird that they still haven't confirmed the status of this show, when it's after 3 pm in georgia right now? It is unfortunate that SP.com can't update their official page. But barring a miracle, the show is NOT happening tonight, as per Ticketmaster (which updated their site sometime around 9PM last night) and 99x.com, and Fox Theatre website. skipgo 10-31-2007, 02:24 PM ah ok, thanks jriordan. I wonder when we'll know about the shows coming up this week. kind of difficult to plan out a road trip if i might not end up going after all. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 02:31 PM that's what I'm trying to explain, it's easy to say "get well jimmy" or "you're just hating the pumpkins", when the truth is it has nothing to do with me being a fan, I've been one since billy shaved his head, the fact of the matter is there was money, not like $3, as people seem to be making it out to be, but hundreds of dollars pretty much wasted. Wait until you go to your show, then find out they postponed it. I'm sure it will make your day so much brighter, and you should alo be really understanding because your life revolves around the smashing pumpkins and not your own, or your familys, or your jobs... Eulogy 10-31-2007, 02:44 PM that's what I'm trying to explain, it's easy to say "get well jimmy" or "you're just hating the pumpkins", when the truth is it has nothing to do with me being a fan, I've been one since billy shaved his head, the fact of the matter is there was money, not like $3, as people seem to be making it out to be, but hundreds of dollars pretty much wasted. Wait until you go to your show, then find out they postponed it. I'm sure it will make your day so much brighter, and you should alo be really understanding because your life revolves around the smashing pumpkins and not your own, or your familys, or your jobs... no, but what in the fuck do you want them to do? sometimes extenuating circumstances interfere, and you get fucked in the ass. whining won't change anything, and there's nobody to be angry at. i'm sorry you got screwed. it sucks. but you have no reason to be angry at the band. reprise85 10-31-2007, 02:44 PM they canceled my show, sure it wasn't the day of, but whatever. should jimmy have a heart attack on stage for you. jesus. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 02:50 PM no, but what in the fuck do you want them to do? sometimes extenuating circumstances interfere, and you get fucked in the ass. whining won't change anything, and there's nobody to be angry at. i'm sorry you got screwed. it sucks. but you have no reason to be angry at the band. i want them to update the fucking front page, so I can go home. This is a message board, no one forces you to read what I have to say, I'm not mad at the fucking band because they are a good band, but everyone who was involved in some sort of way with the atlanta "shows" knows what I'm talking about. closure is all I need good friend, and the best time for them to do it is now, I think everyone deserves it. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 02:52 PM by the way: I wish you were here in atlanta right now, or yesterday for that matter JRiordan 10-31-2007, 02:52 PM If the band died in a plane crash people would still be complaining that they postponed a show at the last minute. Sorry for your inconvenience and disappointment -- I guess Jimmy didn't realize that SP had shows planned this week when he was making his schedule a few months ago for his emergency hospital visit yesterday. skipgo 10-31-2007, 02:53 PM yeah, i get that it sucks to lose your money and time, and i'm sure anyone here would be upset about that. But the band is not at fault here. While it's true they should update the site, considering there are literally thousands of fans wondering if their show is still happening or not, and it's true that i'm completely disappointed because i've been looking forward to this since i first bought my tickets this summer (or even since i found out they were back together), I won't get angry with the band about it. That's some misplaced anger, there. Actually there IS no good place for your anger, this was no one's fault. edit: you posted your thing about not being mad at the band while i was writing this, sorry. JRiordan 10-31-2007, 02:56 PM From Blamo ( http://www.blamonet.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2514155&postcount=25 ) : "This is the official flyer I received at the door of the Fabulous Fox Theatre" http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd139/sotherbee/PA3003232.jpg Thanks for the pic/info Jason from Blamo donnie darko 10-31-2007, 03:00 PM From Blamo ( http://www.blamonet.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2514155&postcount=25 ) : "This is the official flyer I received at the door of the Fabulous Fox Theatre" http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd139/sotherbee/PA3003232.jpg Thanks for the pic/info Jason from Blamo That's odd because I have been checking sp.com for the past 2 days... JRiordan 10-31-2007, 03:04 PM That's odd because I have been checking sp.com for the past 2 days... The text of the flyer is taken verbatim from the Fox Theatre website: http://www.foxtheatre.org/cgi-bin/calendar/calendar.cgi?d=31&m=10&y=2007 Yes, it would be prudent for SP.com to update their news page to OFFICIALLY say that tonight is postponed as well. I agree with that. But, as I said above, barring a miracle, the show IS postponed. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 03:05 PM If the band died in a plane crash people would still be complaining that they postponed a show at the last minute. Sorry for your inconvenience and disappointment -- I guess Jimmy didn't realize that SP had shows planned this week when he was making his schedule a few months ago for his emergency hospital visit yesterday. I really like how you break things down to where I know what's going on. It's not like I'm in atlanta or anything. And while I'm in the process of bashing the fucking band down like I've supposedly been doing, how dare the band postpone a show without my permission. this is the most ruthless thing any band could have ever done, to hell with my drive down here, the hotel and gas costs (and even the cost for fucking parking) because i know that my ticketmaster refunds will just make that all go away. Nothing personal of my own was put into these shows... skipgo 10-31-2007, 03:11 PM but what's the point you're getting at? who are you so pissed off at? donnie darko 10-31-2007, 03:23 PM I think my point is pretty clear and relevant. I'm not mad at the band. I am pissed at the overall turnout, lack of comunication directly with the fans in atlanta, and other shit. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. As far as, are they going to reschedule for dates next week or when? because i sure as shit don't have any vacation time at work for these "new dates!" not to mention the money. it's personal for me because of all of what I have put into these shows, and I'm not the only one... skipgo 10-31-2007, 03:34 PM so i get that you're mad and rightly so. I just don't get WHO you're mad at. I'm not trying to bait you or anything, it makes perfect sense that you're upset about this whole thing. But in a way, it does seem that you're mad at the band, as they're the ones responsible for making an official statement as to what's going on with the shows, and still haven't done so. And if that's the case, maybe you should consider that, what if jimmy's condition is really quite serious and they just haven't gotten around to updating the site/fans because they're focused on taking care of their friend. Which seems somewhat irresponsible in a business sense, but also understandably human. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 03:38 PM see that's the thing, I'm not mad at any person or people. i'm human as well and have to go to work tomorrow, which happens to be about 5 hours away, and i don't want to drive home and they come up with that miracle last minute show here in atlanta. skipgo 10-31-2007, 03:47 PM well if this helps you any, they postponed the dallas show, so i guess that means there won't be a miracle show tonight. :( i feel your pain, i was also thisclose to seeing them. it does suck that you had to make the trip and spend all the money that you did. lapis 10-31-2007, 03:47 PM From sp.com: ..I just don't understand how contacted the Fox, Ticketmaster, local radio stations and venues in the next state they plan to play is not OFFICIAL enough...do you guys want Billy to come to your house and sign an afidavit in blood that they are not playing after he posts a news article and a personal reply to every comment? donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:00 PM from sp.com Wednesday, October 31, 2007 - 12:43 pm - ramboescubar they have a whole website to themselves. and it's not like the internet is available only certain days a week skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:06 PM i'm personally waiting for a signed fax from jimmy's doctor. oh, according to the nokia theatre in dallas, the show saturday is definitely going to be postponed, and the band is about to release a statement to the media. so there you go. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:09 PM that's good way to misinterpret what I've been trying to tell you. and it seems that backup has arrived... congratulations. you win. skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:11 PM what are you talking about? who's misinterpreted what? who are you talking to in that last post? donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:15 PM i'm personally waiting for a signed fax from jimmy's doctor. oh, according to the nokia theatre in dallas, the show saturday is definitely going to be postponed, and the band is about to release a statement to the media. so there you go. ...as if I were waiting for something like that to happen. My argument is far from childish. LoneStarPumpkin 10-31-2007, 04:17 PM according to the nokia theatre in dallas, the show saturday is definitely going to be postponed, and the band is about to release a statement to the media. so there you go. Actually, so far, that's only according to the word of one netphoria poster. Although it may very well turn out to be accurate, nothing is official yet. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:19 PM so there you go. skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:28 PM ...as if I were waiting for something like that to happen. My argument is far from childish. i was making a fucking joke dude. I've been pretty understanding of you here, you need to lighten the fuck up. I realize you're having a shitty couple of days, but it's not necessary to take it out on everyone else. skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:30 PM Actually, so far, that's only according to the word of one netphoria poster. Although it may very well turn out to be accurate, nothing is official yet. actually he posted an email that was from someone who works at the venue. I know it's her because i got an email from her today as well. I feel very confident that it's accurate. some people are fucking douches, and many have found their way to this thread. greatpumpkin 10-31-2007, 04:32 PM I bet they cancel Austin, Dallas, and Nashville and pick back up with Athens next week since they're already here. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:34 PM i was making a fucking joke dude. I've been pretty understanding of you here, you need to lighten the fuck up. I realize you're having a shitty couple of days, but it's not necessary to take it out on everyone else. yeah. I just fucking hate all of this. A couple of days will do me good. even tho i don't have a couple of days because i used them for this show. and i swear to god if the rescheduled shows aren't on a weekend I'm going to shoot myself in the face. skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:36 PM same here, i don't think i can get out of work. good luck man. seriously. skipgo 10-31-2007, 04:37 PM I bet they cancel Austin, Dallas, and Nashville and pick back up with Athens next week since they're already here. what's the last date of the tour? (i guess i could look that up...) it would be cool if they could reschedule those postponed shows right at the end, so we wouldn't have to wait forever to see them. donnie darko 10-31-2007, 04:38 PM thanks and by the way the radio reports jimmy out of the hospital today. greatpumpkin 10-31-2007, 04:38 PM 99x just said that Jimmy was released today, so maybe they'll hit the road.....who knows. greatpumpkin 10-31-2007, 04:41 PM what's the last date of the tour? (i guess i could look that up...) it would be cool if they could reschedule those postponed shows right at the end, so we wouldn't have to wait forever to see them. looks like the last date is 11/9, so it's possible we won't have to wait too long. |
