View Full Version : "Limited" edition Zeitgeist?

I have already bought the Best Buy edition of Zeitgeist (I love Death From Above; sue me). But I'm debating whether or not to buy the "special deluxe" edition. Best Buy has it for under $25. Is the 76-page book anything special (especially compared to the standard liner notes that I already have)? Also, some places/websites are calling it "limited." Is it truly limited? And if so, how limited?

Essentially, is it worth my money for any reason?

my god we've talked this to death.

yes buy it. it will change your life. no one on this board has regretted it and its so special deluxe you might need to buy it again.

if you're such a stickler for your dollar, you'll probably find plenty of reason to be disappointed.

I must be crazy. The booklet is awesome. Splurge for it while you can...

Why not just by the booklet version then? I also think its psychotic to buy two of what is essentially the same item. Just pick one and stick with it.

i bought the book. my girlfriend, who is a graphic designer, was kind of let down at first glimpse while i was flipping through it. she then picked it up and started to comment on how well it was all put together. she was really impressed at the use of vellum (her favorite medium) in the book and said she finally understood the album after looking at the book.

Because apparently its cool to have things wrapped in original plastic and dust sitting on top of the mantle. Fuck, ive been a SP fan since I was 10 years old, the year Siamese Dream came out......they were literally the first band I ever even cared for and I would never find myself buying something Pumpkins and never enjoying it....for it to just sit and rot (all the while trying to convince yourself that it was worth the extra $25 so you could listen to one copy while staring at the other).

Stupid

Sounds very similar to my experience. It was much better when I picked it up again this morning...

the only person i know that bought it is dissappointed cause it doesn't fit anywhere, its fairly cheap looking and its boring after you flip through it. be happy that best buy had DFA, unlike shitty canadian best buy. that will be my first and last cd purchased at that black hole

It's so good, you'll wanna make out it. But won't cause your scared of papercuts. Why ask? You know you NEED it. You can't live without. 5 years from now you'll ask yourself why you didn't buy if you don't run to the store right now.

Wow, what active forums. I'm new here, and on some messageboards I'm lucky if I get one reply after a day of waiting, let alone such a massive-ass list of replies after a few hours.

That being said....it seems that the people who say "no" don't have a lot of backup, and the people who say "yes," well, I can't tell if they're serious or sarcastic. "You'll want to make out with it" is hardly reassuring ;P.

This is getting ridiculous.

A'ight, I'm gonna make this simple by rephrasing my question:

Does the 76-page book have lots more Paris Hilton pics that I'm missing out on? 'Cause that's the only reason I was ever a Pumpkins fan. For Paris Hilton photos. So if they're in there, I need to buy it.
