View Full Version : My new job is great, but . . .

. . . I can't listen to music! I was spoiled at my last job - I got to listen all day with headphones. Now it's meeting after meeting and everyone has to have their computer's on silent, etc - so I can't play anything. And headphones is out of the question.

Oh well, despite this, I'm pretty happy with this new job. Yet the silence . . .

I could do basically anything I wanted until I moved into an office with my boss. I suspect it's the same sort of feeling... my boss was like RIGHT THERE, about a meter and a half to my left, so there wasn't even the opportunity to think about goofing off.

Wait wait wait can't you just do the one headphone/earbud thing and keep it low so no one else hears you but you can hear them

brendo_91
07-11-2007, 10:28 PM
but then people would be able to see the headphones, and i'm guessing that would be a problem.

07-11-2007, 10:43 PM

I bet they would enjoy that much more than having headphones strapped around his ears whispering satanic anti-disney chants

Disney specifically, or BV?

I've heard a lot of negative stuff about the way BVI handle their staff

Disney - and yes, I've heard that about BV. My ex worked for them, and though it wasn't evil, it wasn't a bed of roses either. He left as soon as he could.

the concept of listening to music at work is new to me- since everyone is on a computer pretty much all day (people discuss work issues via msn meesenger instead of getting off their asses) there are tonnes and tonnes of shared playlists on iTunes on our server so basically there is almost limitless music, pretty good for someone like me who isn't a particularily adventurous person when it comes to choosing music.

Aeroplane
07-12-2007, 12:52 AM
that was like the place i worked before. so much music sharing. it was great.
