I'm going. The pre-sale applies to the entire venue, not just the pit area. And I'm guessing they have allotted only a certain amount of tickets/seats for the pre-sale. The pit is general admission "standing room only", the rest of the venue will be assigned seating. If you select "Best Available" it will not search for tickets in the pit area. I don't know about "minutes", but I bet it sells out well before November. I kinda hope it sells out quick with hopes of adding a 2nd show.

Yeah, I had terrible seats for the Reunion Arena show too. Not nosebleed, but way in the back. To this day, one of my least favorite Pumpkins shows.

Even without the pre-sale code, you shouldn't have a problem getting pit seats. If you get on Ticketmaster right when tickets go on-sale, and manually select PIT, I can't imagine it being a problem. Then again, what do I know. The pre-sale might be a good judge as to how this show will sell. If I somehow can't get pit seats during the pre-sale, that will probably be a sign that the show is going to sell really well. But, who knows...

It's smaller than an arena, but it's quite big. Bigger than your average theater type venue. If they sell tickets in the upper balcony, it'll hold over 6,000.

So I called and the best they can do is exchange them for me if I can find better ones. At least they're willing to work with me but I didn't buy those damn shitty tickets, I bought the center ones and it gave em the crappy ones.

Bingo.

Even if they released 1/4th of the pit tickets, we (as a board) may have never landed them. There is a surprisingly large amount of Pumpkins diehards out there.

Also, even if they didn't put pit tickets in the presale - we never would have gotten them anyway. Well, maybe one of us. When I saw the Pumpkins in Houston in '00, it sold out in three minutes. I bet there are like 500 pit tickets, maximum. Put it in perspective, and pit is very unlikely.

I'm totally satisfied with my seats though. Pit kinda sucks anyways... all that standing up... it's for the young folk ;) *croak*

No kidding. There's only been a few shows where I waited in line for hours and the only one worth it was Beck on the Midnite Vultures tour(got front row, center).

I got a great spot for billy's solo show even though we were only waiting for about an hour (i was with friends who didn't give a shit about sp, so they weren't willing to wait all day with me, and i wasn't driving) but we got in early because we met billy before we got in line, and he put us on his guest list, so some guy came out and got us before they started letting people in.

Then I waited all day in Pensecola and ended up with shitty seats.
So, ya never know.

If i was hanging out with a bunch of netphoria people, nerding out over sp, i wouldn't mind standing in line :)

2. rock invasion show in 93 (from vieuphoria) the today performance with the ghostbuster shirt....well i got a similar bruise on my back from this little railed-off aisle they have for bouncers to pull out crowd surfers because i was crushed up against it during cherub rock. sound slike yours was more painful though, thanks to a gradual crushing...mine was one hard slam and thats it.

3. Tool Undertow tour 1994 -- worst hit from a shoe -- one of those outdoorsman type rugged shoes right in the face. the tread scraped up my skin and gave me a bruise that looked like a black eye.

i didn't buy my album from itunes, so i'm having to wait for the general ticket sale.

i went ahead and looked at ebay to see what they were selling for (Original price is $53) and people are paying double to triple face value. but those are decent seats.

i went over to the ticket scalper website ticketliquidator.com and saw tickets for sale at triple face value over there, and they were the worst seats in the house.

if bad seats are being sold by scalpers, does this mean that it could sell out BEFORE it's on sale to the general public? if so, :cry:

i'm not sure about cameras, i know the band is cool with it, i don't know about the venue. I can't take mine anyway since it's an slr and they won't let you use "professional" cameras. Which sucks, I could get some awesome photos with it.

Well after the itunes debacle of my presale code never showing up and then getting a presale code and finding out that the pit tickets were already sold out, I managed to get my pit tickets today at 10:01am and I couldn't be happier. I almost caved and bought tix through the presale but decided against that and hoped the ghost of D'arcy would smile upon me and grant me my wish. Alas she did. This will be my 11th time seeing the Pumpkins and I didn't want to start sitting in seats at this stage. I'll see you all in the pit with my purple Starla shirt on! Oh.... FUCK iTunes!!!

It is like 5 minutes away from the venue w/ any major traffic bullshit. I've stayed there a few times when I've gone to see shows and it is very convenient. I booked my room for $39 + tax. And they have high speed internet, which is nice.

thanks, i was just about to ask if anyone knew about a hotel near the venue.

Also, Grand Prairie is in a dry county, so bring your own beer if you want to party at the hotel. When I went to see the Pixies there, wy wife and I drove around for an hour looking for a liquor store thinking it would be easy. The county lines are all weird which made it hard to find one. Plus the people we asked for help sucked at giving directions.

Well, pre-sale screwed me. I ended up only being able to get 3 tix not seated together, during the pre-sale..then today I got two tix together (although best was in section 301) during the regular sale. So now I am stuck with the 3 single tix which I am sure I will end up eating. This sucks!! If anyone wants some pretty decent single tix, let me know, I have:

sect 204 row GG seat 18
sect 205 row NN seat 19

I've lurked here a lot, but I finally decided to post. I already got tickets for the presale, but they aren't that great. I tried this morning just to see if I could get pit, and I did! After buying the pit tickets, I realized the ticket limit is for both presale and regular sale. Do you think it is likely my tickets will be cancelled for exceeding the limit?

I've always found it odd that people wear shirts to concerts of bands that aren't the band they're going to see too... I mean, why wear a band shirt at all? It just seems kinda :erm:

I'm sure I'll see at least one person wearing a Nirvana shirt...
