Anyway, I like 'Bleeding the Orchid'. mccririck 07-02-2007, 09:48 AM All of these polls are retarded. Anyway, I like 'Bleeding the Orchid'. Nice of you to join the retarded party then. yoshinobu's revenge 07-02-2007, 10:01 AM I've been surprised with how well received it's been. It's not my favourite from Zeitgeist, that's for sure. I voted it's ok. panopticon 07-02-2007, 10:13 AM It's good :) There's better on the album but it's a pretty nice song. SpFission 07-02-2007, 10:14 AM It's what Machina should have sounded like. Dark 07-02-2007, 10:15 AM People disliking BTO, is just as absurd as people liking DFA/P&C BumbleBeeMouth 07-02-2007, 10:15 AM its better live with girlie backing vocals. doesnt sound as good on record. dad, dead 07-02-2007, 10:15 AM this song assumes that i have nothing better to do than to sit around and pay attention. remember when you first heard jellybelly and you weren't quite sure what just happened but the intrigue was undeniable? there isn't one song on here that does that for me... SpFission 07-02-2007, 10:16 AM this song assumes that i have nothing better to do than to sit around and pay attention. remember when you first heard jellybelly and you weren't quite sure what just happened but the intrigue was undeniable? there isn't one song on here that does that for me... Yeah, why would you actually sit around and pay attention to the music you are listening to? :erm: mccririck 07-02-2007, 10:18 AM Yeah, why would you actually sit around and pay attention to the music you are listening to? :erm: You missed the point, he means it does nothing to try and get your attention. ibelievenothing 07-02-2007, 10:19 AM Here we are, Upon your stage , The love we share, The dreams we'll save. dad, dead 07-02-2007, 10:19 AM Yeah, why would you actually sit around and pay attention to the music you are listening to? :erm: just sayin'. normal folks aren't gonna try near as hard as we do... NovaFritz 07-02-2007, 11:17 AM i just DESPISE the vocal treatments on this album, but it through a filter or something bill, your voice is too bold for unadulterated soul burning Banana 07-02-2007, 11:26 AM It's the only track on the album that sounds like it could have been on MCIS. AndyX 07-02-2007, 11:39 AM itīs the best track on Zeitgeist. TimeZoneChecker 07-02-2007, 11:39 AM It's what Machina should have sounded like. no Banana 07-02-2007, 11:42 AM Let's not kid ourselves, the best track on zeitgeist is Bring The Light. SpFission 07-02-2007, 11:43 AM no Yes queundoguero 07-02-2007, 11:44 AM hmmm. thats wierd. i think 7 shades would have fit on Mellon Collie, aside from the title. spidrr 07-02-2007, 11:56 AM Orchid live > Orchid studio Live version has much more energy, as well as the extended part with the solo at the end. The studio version lacks energy, sounds like billy is half asleep and bored. The solo is completly overpowered and drained out by the shitty vocals at the end. Could have been much better. I was really looking forward to hearing this studio recording too. jaggedjunkie 07-02-2007, 02:15 PM I don't get the love for the song either. The chorus is annoying and boring, and I just don't care for the vocalizing in the intro either... it's just a weird song in an even weirder spot on the record. Gossamer 07-02-2007, 02:27 PM I don't understand how anyone can not like this song. Banana 07-02-2007, 02:32 PM I actually think Orchid Studio > Orchid Live. I didn't really care for the live version at all. Kirk* 07-02-2007, 02:34 PM Hmmm this comes from a guy who has John McCrick in his avatar. Nuff said. morecowbell 07-02-2007, 02:35 PM love it live, like it on the album. Tribute2JohnnyB 07-02-2007, 02:39 PM the monotone Billy chorus singing is fucking annoying. spidrr 07-02-2007, 02:45 PM I actually think Orchid Studio > Orchid Live. I didn't really care for the live version at all. Dude, the solo in live version is killer. Wheres that shit on the studio? slunken 07-02-2007, 02:49 PM the album version just really doesn't do much for me...in my opinion it's the worst song on the album... not into the lyrics, not into the hook, and where's the killer solo? yea yea P+C but that's at the end so it almost doesn't count... WeilandFan 07-02-2007, 02:56 PM It kind of has a bit of a Pug vibe. I like it, it's not the best track on the album, but it's good. mellon_c0llie 07-02-2007, 02:59 PM does anyone else think this song sounds like "In bloom" by Nirvana? slunken 07-02-2007, 03:02 PM it's that damn ya-ya vibe...just listened to the song again and yea its my least favorite...but it makes me even more stoked when That's The Way comes on... MonteLDS 07-02-2007, 03:11 PM It's what Machina should have sounded like. perfect! dad, dead 07-02-2007, 03:40 PM It's the only track on the album that sounds like it could have been on MCIS. what could you even be talking about? it's all those non-descript reverberated thin guitars that flooded Machina like on GATGC. the riffs used to speak for themselves but it seems since Machina he just plots a chord progression on the acoustic and then floods effects over the top of it. case in point would be the recent acoustic performances of The Crying Tree of Mercury. there was no crutch like this on Here Is No Why. Bodies had extra effects like that but they were ultimately pummeled by the simple straightforward riff. dad, dead 07-02-2007, 03:44 PM and just to beat you to the punch, i see the poll; i'm outnumbered. Superstarla 07-02-2007, 03:44 PM I don't understand how anyone can not like this song. So do I. It's a classic SP song! runnersdialzero 07-02-2007, 03:57 PM it reminds me alot of speed kills, the single version. i feel both of them are good tracks yet somehow feel like they are trying too hard to be mid-90's Chuck=Zero 07-02-2007, 03:57 PM This song, along with Starz, were songs where my initial impression was "Hmm, I think this song sounds better live." CherubDaydream 07-02-2007, 04:08 PM Album version is way better than live version Rickpat12 07-02-2007, 04:12 PM Damn do I love the vocals. The intro is phenominal. My tattoo idea- The Heart Untouched *new SP heart (from flag) The Heart Unloved yoshinobu's revenge 07-02-2007, 04:13 PM bleeding the orchiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid, bleeding the orchiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid bleeding the orchiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid, bleeding the orchiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid why i don't like it ^ BuriedSoftly 07-02-2007, 05:34 PM Its a good song. andrewface 07-02-2007, 05:42 PM I dont like it, but then I come here and find out it's most people's favourite track. It was cool to hear the album version after listening to the live version so many times. Live version = album version. harrison6 07-02-2007, 07:42 PM does anyone else think this song sounds like "In bloom" by Nirvana? Yeah, the riff and the watery effects make it feel a little like "In Bloom" and Come as You Are" as well as its place early in the album. yoshinobu's revenge 07-03-2007, 12:00 AM Lol ^ x2 Caunn 07-03-2007, 01:03 AM best song on the cd is united states Personally, i think it's my least favorite track, while i'm really liking everything else. NothingSafe 07-03-2007, 05:52 AM When I heard it live, I was blown away. Now that I've heard the studio version, I find myself very dissapointed, afwul studio version |
