Live version has much more energy, as well as the extended part with the solo at the end.

The studio version lacks energy, sounds like billy is half asleep and bored. The solo is completly overpowered and drained out by the shitty vocals at the end. Could have been much better. I was really looking forward to hearing this studio recording too.

I don't get the love for the song either. The chorus is annoying and boring, and I just don't care for the vocalizing in the intro either... it's just a weird song in an even weirder spot on the record.

it's all those non-descript reverberated thin guitars that flooded Machina like on GATGC. the riffs used to speak for themselves but it seems since Machina he just plots a chord progression on the acoustic and then floods effects over the top of it. case in point would be the recent acoustic performances of The Crying Tree of Mercury.

there was no crutch like this on Here Is No Why. Bodies had extra effects like that but they were ultimately pummeled by the simple straightforward riff.
