how do you deal with it?

writing rip tributes all over the street in chalk and taking pictures of them
listening to his favourite songs over and over and over and crying my guts out
convincing myself that there was nothing i could have done to stop it because we weren't as close as we used to be and he wouldn't have believed me anyway
reading the tributes his friends still leave on his myspace
and finally accepting that he wanted this and i hope wherever his soul is it's happy

Depends on the cause, im pretty fatalistic towards this. Cant really feel sad for them, they are not able to feel it, i feel loss for their loved ones but for myself, its feels kind of redundant getting all depressed, unless there was something i could have done.

this helps too. my boss took my depressed ass out for lunch and let me cry into my water and gave me some excellent hugs

when my coworkers dog died i gave him the bestest longest hug in the world and i was all covered in his tears but i think we both felt a lot better.

I try to not think about it until it hits me really hard. Then I cry a lot and after I've finally stopped my emotions get blank for a few days.

I usually stop being cognizant of my own existence and then decompose.

your brain has to unlearn that they are alive and reliable
you have to go through and relive every memory and feel every bit of pain before you can let it go
you get angry and depressed and you want to rip your fucking eyes out but you stop and separate from that and just cry
then it turns into nostalgia and you become thankful later for being able to have that
