i meant those fleeting combinations of lyrics, vocals and music that give you shivers.

some of my favorites are:

"Until the bitter, bitter end of the world, yeah" from Soma. (shame deleted)
"Recast as child in mystic sage" from SIYL. don't know why. sounding openly for me.
"She really loves to break" from Geek USA. i think it's a most psychotic thing ever.
"Happiness will make you wonder, will I feel ok? It scares the disenchanted, far away" from hummer. kick-ass, no comments.

maybe there was a similar thread but i'm not going to dig annals of netphoria.

So real.

I will go with:

"I'm all by myself....
As I've always felt...
And I'll betray myself
To anyone, lost, anyone but you!!"

Does that count?

"Until the bitter, bitter end of the world, yeah" from Soma. i just can't stand the tune.

Just wanted to second that. But I don't know if when you say you can't stand the tune you mean the melody of that line or the song in general. For the record, I'm partial to both. I love the "I'm all by myself" part that follows. The line itself is so hackneyed. It's something you'd expect from terrible adolescent poetry. But with the delivery and in the context of the song, it's powerful. To me, at least.

"I fear that I am ordinary just like everyone."

Yes! That's one of my favorite lines, but I think I love the part where the drums come in right after "Just like everyone" even more.

The " i just want to be me" from mayonaise on the 12.2.00 metro boot where the crowd sings it back to him always gets me.

"so let the sadness come again"
"you blame yourself...etc.."

High five!

Back at you. There's so many great moments in that song. Everyone seems to have a hard time pinning a favorite part of Ruby. I love that song, too, but I love Soma so much more.

"Welcome to nowhere fast" - Jellybelly (Anthem for my life)

"Fool enough to almost be it
And cool enough to not quite see it
And old enough to always feel this
Always old, I'll always feel this

No more promise no more sorrow
No longer will I follow
Can anybody hear me
I just want to be me
When I can, I will " - Wonder what song this is? (Powerful garbled message)

Pretty much all the verse lyrics from Try, Try, Try normal and alt

"And into the eyes of a jackyl I say KA-BOOM!" - X.Y.U. (I just love the emotional delivery)

As for the music, the god damned main riff from Cherub Rock always gets me, I just love it damn it (Dun Dundun dun dundun dun)

Mayonaise. The entire song.

Rocket: "Consume my love, devour my hate, only powers my escaaaaape.
The moon is out, the stars invite, I think I'll leave toniiiight."
"I shall be free."

Opening riff from Drown.
"You travelled far like a star"
"I wish, I wish, I could lie."

Cherry: Chorus and "The precious ones, our greatest pretenders."

And a lot of what everyone else has said.

the lonely towers of long mistakes
