Hmmm? http://www.mediabase.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Charts.asp?format=r3R&showtopn=2000&cutoff=0

Guess the song is doing pretty well after all. It has grown on me especially after hearing the acoustic version. I hope it does fuck up Linkin Park shitty Linkin Park cover song.

for sure. they were on before SP for the Germany show. i really wanted to stab myself in the eye, but then i would have missed the SP play.

Papa Roach are the definition of trend riding bands. Go and listen to their Nu-Metal garbage they made in 2001 or 2002 or so and hear how different it is compared to the emo shit they're spitting out now.

Papa Roach is emo now? I seriously had no idea. LOL. I know they got popular with some heavy stuff, perhaps "nu metal".

I guess everyone is emo these days.

Except BC and JC though. They are in the business of burning lies off souls, which I much prefer.

And here's the link for tracking SP singles on Billboard:
http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/retrieve_chart_history.do?model.vnuArtistId=5700&model.vnuAlbumId=933126

Tarantula has hit #5 Modern Rock, #18 Mainstream Rock, #44 Hot Digital Songs, #50 Pop 100, #54 Hot 100. All in all, pretty damned good.

Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation
No breathing
Dont give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding

This is my last resort

Cut my life into pieces
Ive reached my last resort
Suffocation
No breathing
Dont give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding
Do you even care if I die bleeding
Would it be wrong
Would it be right
If I took my life tonight
Chances are that I might
Mutilation outta sight
And Im contemplating suicide

Cuz Im losing my sight
Losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me Im fine
Losing my sight
Losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me Im fine

I never realized I was spread too thin
Till it was too late
And I was empty within
Hungry
Feeding on chaos
And living in sin
Downward spiral where do I begin
It all started when I lost my mother
No love for myself
And no love for another
Searching to find a love up on a higher level
Finding nothing but questions and devils

Cuz Im losing my sight
Losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me in fine
Losing my sight
Losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me Im fine
Nothings alright
Nothing is fine
Im running and Im crying
Im crying
Im crying
Im crying
Im crying

I cant go on living this way

Cut my life into pieces
This is my last resort
Suffocation
No breathing
Dont give a fuck if I cut my arm bleeding
Would it be wrong
Would it be right
If I took my life tonight
Chances are that I might

Losing my mind
Wish somebody would tell me Im fine

I cant go on living this way
Cant go on
Living this way

It's so true.

smashing0 - so what, it's all about the sound.
The rapping, the way they played guitar, the song structure. They were nu metal, now they're completely emo.

I have no idea how the billboard charts work, so what exactly does it
mean to have a top5 song on modern rock?

What did they have on the other songs, and how does it (if at all)
correlate with album sales?

Im not doing 20 questions here, I just assume some people have a grasp
of what this means, because I sure as hell don't.

This seems kind of positive..
SMASHING TIME: A seven-year absence from Modern Rock Tracks has apparently made the hearts of Smashing Pumpkins fans grow fonder. The self-imposed hiatus hasn't hurt the group's chart fortunes, as "Tarantula" (Reprise) soars 30-5, to become the 17th consecutive top 10 hit for the band (and sixth consecutive top five hit).

The Pumpkins already held the record for the most consecutive top 10 hits in Modern Rock history, so this smashing return simply extends their lead.

I listened sporadicly in the car throughout the day, not really much time at all,
but heard it twice, both times with the DJ anouncing the fact that Pumpkins
has reunited, this is their new single, and that the album comes soon.

This is on the biggest rock station in Stockholm, Sweden.

Pretty nice.

Next week the song should be #2 as it is getting the 2nd most plays in the country behind LP. So far it's on par with Perfect, Ava Adore @ #3. SIYL and Bullet were @ @2. 1979 is their only #1. I figure That's The Way, when released should hit #1 just from the buzz of Tarantula.

I just turned on the radio (102.1 the edge) and heard that that Tarantula was at #2 beating White Stripes Icky Thump. But at #1 is STILL Linkin Park and supposedly has not budged in 6 weeks UGH...I don't really care for radio I still want Tarantula to top crap like Linkin Park.

VOTE people!

Tarantula is also now at #2 behind Linkin Park on that link the OP provided

I lived in central Louisiana for about 5 years and there are no good radio stations. At all. In fact, you're even pressed to find a top 40 station or good ole 70's and 80's soft rock station. It's mostly country and contemporary christian. I really feel sorry for you guys. Why try? CDs only in LA...

EvilMudbug
06-08-2007, 06:21 AM
yeah CD's seem the only way to go, but that sucks too. I hate it, there is no way to be introduced to new music that is good unless you use the internet and that takes up too much time.

"this is why i'm hot
this is why i'm hot
i'm hot because i'm fly
you ain't because you not
this is why i'm hot"

Who in their right mind would think that is a good song. it's freaking stupid. it's like a 12 year old wrote it. my wife is a teacher at an inner city school and the kids their sing that song all the time.....and they are 12. it's sad that ADULTS also like that song. what a bunch of maroons. Oh well.....maybe someday I can move from shreveport and live somewhere awesome......like the north pole.

for hidden meanings and deeper thoughts.

I heard Tarantula on 91X today in Orange County and on XM radio all within an hour, it's getting a lot of play. I heard Rocket yesterday on XM, and Disarm multiple times on KROQ. It seems like whenever I listen to the radio I heard the Pumpkins.
