You actually don't need much time to appreciate this song. Just listen to the first time he sings "In My Body." Imagine that 1000 times and you basically have the whole thing.

It's a good song, just 2 minutes too long.

The Lyrics, this song is about...

He's talking to his masculine side, about how he wants that masculine side dead
and he's feeling very feminine at the moment, the MAN he was is dead.

The masculine side, which is June's offcast (june being the feminine side we always hear about) is the fault for some of his anger and he's tired of being angry and he wants to rid that from his life.

Then he speaks as the masculine side, saying that it's never going to be found again. You'll never find that anger again, you'll never pull that anger out of me again

In my body, is all you ever were (to the masculine side that he's ridded for the moment"

So basically, in one line

it's a song about how much trouble his anger has gotten him into
and he wants the anger to end, anger being caused by the masculine side

I've always thought this song was a sequel to Glass and the Ghost Children about being dead, hovering over your body, and just expressing astonishment over this fact. As though you really have nothing to do at all other than contemplate the horrors of what got you there. I like the song, but it doesn't come close to fulfilling it's potential.

jasminetea

this song is appallingly underproduced, contrary to almost every other songs on machina I&II having been overproduced imo.

drums are boring, cant be jimmy's. vocals are too far away. arrangement is abit too obscure.

good point is an ambient effect of guitar sound.

good song for sure, but could have been much much better.

I like the song, it's just too repetitive for its own good.

Come to think of it, Billy does manage to repeat his lyrics a lot.

Forgive me for mentioning some of these.

"i'm ready, oh lord i'm ready, i'm ready, ready, ready"
"Radio, play my favorite song, radio, radio"
Try Try Try - the song title itself

I'm sure there are others... but those are the ones that came to mind. Apparently a lot of them coming for his most recent from 2000 and up

are you trying to say billy is a woman trapped in a man's body? and thats what this song is about?
