fuck yeah dude

coconut, mango, garlic, tamarind, coriander you fuckin name em

but chutney is actually pretty good. getting soft fluffy roti or nice pita bread is the problem.

mint chutney is a bit of all right, yes. my favourite indian place makes it with yoghurt. goes great with bhajees and pakoras; much prefer it to tamarind chutney

i was going to cook tonight but i think i'll get a curry now :/

I like indian restaurants with beef dishes, it's like they moved to america and started eating god.

you guys are awesome aside from the ignorance on hindus.

do you like samosas?

Luke de Spa
06-05-2007, 02:48 AM
they're often too dense for my liking, but the hare krishna restaurant here does really good samosas.

i usually stick to bhajees, pakoras, garlic naan and extra hot palak paneers

I bet hindus have some fucked up names for ketchup.

we have a great place down in hollywood here called paru's that i go to here and there, the owner knows my family so he just talks to us on a first name basis. its really cool, my bro and i have even taken dates there because we're so fond of it.

if you ever come to LA luke de spa ill have to point it out for you. have you heard of this place, ihaman? its on sunset.

I feel that my palate is unsophisticated. I have an Indian friend and I didn't enjoy much of the food at his wedding. It all tasted very perfumey to me. I'm willing to give it another shot but wasn't impressed the first time around.

I've never heard of it, which sucks because I was just there on Friday. I like Los Angeles dining because it's so based off word-of-mouth. I just stickied it for next time I'm there.

I"m so fucking hungry, haha, nothing's even open. I have these little packets of things called "Bengal Lentils", they tide me over sometimes.

Too much saffron!!

I've found the non-meat dishes are better than the meat dishes. Anything containing lentils or garbanzo beans is amazing.

then you slather it in mint chutney and you have yourself the greatest thing to grace the surface of your tongue, ever.

I love spicy foods so I find it strange I wouldn't enjoy Indian food. I need to give in to my buddy and go to the local Indian restaurant with her. She keeps trying to drag me out there and I'm scared :( I feel like such a chump when I go to a restaurant and don't enjoy any of the food I order.

you're a step in the door considering you like spicy foods, most people complain about indian food because of that. just try stuff out and ask her advice on what you might like, indian food isnt even my favorite type of food but there's a lot of good stuff a lot of people can enjoy.

OCA seriously, just go to one and buy anything random if you like a couple of the ingredients in it, if it's a good indian it probably won't matter what you buy, it'll all be amazing. Also, is mint chutney a novelty over there or something? It's not exactly that unusual to get it :/

Indian food is my fucking favorite. For how much this town preaches diversity, there's a startling lack of Indian food. And by that, I mean none. Even in my super conservative hometown, there was a locally owned Indian restaurant. I just got wind that it closed down, though :[
Give me some aloo matar paneer and I'm set. Man, that sounds so good right now. :[ x2

Mint chutney's pretty good, but nothing beats a spicy mango chutney spread onto some naan. Or plum chutney. Or just about any sweet fruit mixed with something spicy chutney. The stuff in that picture Ihamatt posted looks kinda watery for chutney. I like my stuff nice 'n' thick.

Done and done. I'll take my buddy Vaclav with me as he could steer me in the right direction. The best thing about Vaclav is that everyone just calls him Roy. He got tired of butchered american pronunciations so was just like "fuck it, just call me roy." priceless.
