View Full Version : I think Jeff and Ginger are in the band
DougieZero 06-04-2007, 01:55 PM I think the next phase in SP news breaking would be answers to what Jeff and actually Ginger are... touring musicians?... probably not with all the rehearsals they went through (according to the keyboardist myspace, friends were wishing her luck in April after she left for Chicago) and the residency gigs make me believe that it's a bonding time and a bigger summer tour will kick off if they gel together.
It's interesting where they recruited these new musicians. Ginger was in some faux girl punk group... where the band was actually sponsored by stuff like clothing companies. Their claim to fame was a song from the Freaky Friday soundtrack and being in the background in a Good Charlotte video.
Jeff was in a Cali indie group who once had some buzz about them in 1996-97 when NME wrote a few articles about them... they also once opened for The New Pornographers once.
They keyboardist on her website says that she once played in Japan at a hotel for a few nights. She brags that she has has played with studio musicians who once played with Liz Phair.
Clearly he wanted to find the most appreciative people possible... the most non-jaded people you could find after Zwan. People who would be thrilled playing in front of 70,000 people in Germany.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:09 PM it seems like billy and jimmy were looking for geniunely good people this time around. btw what's the name of the keyboardist? i can't find info on her anywhere

Reyngel 06-04-2007, 02:13 PM What's her website's address?

Reyngel 06-04-2007, 02:14 PM God, she is so fucking hot.
Anyone else think so?
wHATcOLOR 06-04-2007, 02:15 PM i like how she looks
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:17 PM she appeals to my eyeballs
DougieZero 06-04-2007, 02:17 PM I think she is great... a picture from her "tour page (ha!)" on her site... look at this rocking crowd!
<img src="http://www.lisaharritonmusic.com/images-new/tourshots/japan3.jpg">
so yeah, like I said... She gets to dress like a hot nazi zombie women and play to thousands of people.
Oh yeah... occasionally Uri Jon Roth will walk on stage and solo to your keys for 24 minutes.
Reyngel 06-04-2007, 02:18 PM I wonder how old she is.
retardovat 06-04-2007, 02:18 PM God, she is so fucking hot.

Reyngel 06-04-2007, 02:20 PM she's 23
How do you know? On her looks, I'd have guessed 25.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:21 PM How do you know? On her looks, I'd have guessed 25.
because it says so on her website.
Reyngel 06-04-2007, 02:22 PM Oh. I can't seem to find it on there.
MisterSquishyHalo 06-04-2007, 02:24 PM God, she is so fucking hot.
Anyone else think so?
I agree. She is so very hot. In fact hotter than any of bolly's bassists.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:27 PM i don't know man, i kinda have a middle school-type crush on ginger (yea i feel stupid) but i won't lie.. lisa is very appealing to my eyeballs as well
starlaluna 06-04-2007, 02:30 PM she is THAT young? there was a thread somewhere from before on her. From the pics she looks real old..
someone mentioned, she looks "like a mom".
devotchka 06-04-2007, 02:34 PM i'm not entirely sure why, but of all the things that sit strangely with me about the replacements - it's their age that sits strangest of all.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:38 PM well it said 23 on her website that is no longer running (lisaharriton.net) if you type her name into google, you'll see that site and it says age 23.
so who knows how outdated that website is. she's probably older by now and she does look more like gingers age
mccririck 06-04-2007, 02:38 PM i'm not entirely sure why, but of all the things that sit strangely with me about the replacements - it's their age that sits strangest of all.
Here too. I dont like it tbh. Billy's probably got cameras rigged up in ginger and lisa's dressingrooms.
starlaluna 06-04-2007, 02:43 PM i'm not entirely sure why, but of all the things that sit strangely with me about the replacements - it's their age that sits strangest of all.
I was just thinking that their ages are around the same as most pumpkins fans...
MisterSquishyHalo 06-04-2007, 02:47 PM I like the fact that they are younger, they will be able to physically handle a long and vigirous tour.
devotchka 06-04-2007, 02:50 PM they are certainly close to the age of most sp fans, if not even slightly younger. and while i think there is definitely something to be said for bringing some youth and vitality back to the band... there is still something faintly odd about two grown men, solidly 40 or very near it adding members to a band that almost as old as they are.

Maybe they couldnt find any 40 year olds that could 'keep up' with bolly and jimmy.
spidrr 06-04-2007, 02:52 PM lisa is well below average if were talking "hot" terms. id give it to her though. maybe.
maybe Billy & Jimmy are looking to turn the Pumpkins into a sort of rock 'n' roll boot camp, rotating in a new set of fresh faces to mentor every year, changing the music world one guitarist and bassist and keyboardist at a time.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 02:54 PM well, seeing as how billy added a couple of oldies and a couple of jaded egoheads to zwan (and we all know how that worked out), i think this time around billy and jimmy were less focused on age and experience and more focused on looking for honest and genuinely good people. i'm happy with their decisions.

bill is 40

so...
40
43
27
27
23
seems like a bad craigslist band.

middle aged men with a constant and revolving stream of young 20 something bassists....that's not creepy at all. :erm:

i smell a reality tv show!
God, she is so fucking hot.
Anyone else think so?
She is hot.
Reyngel 06-04-2007, 03:04 PM seems like a bad craigslist band.
lol, good point.
RockLobster 06-04-2007, 03:07 PM I think the next move billy corgan will do is announce a farewell final show and tour.
Reyngel 06-04-2007, 03:10 PM I think the next move billy corgan will do is announce a farewell final show and tour.
lol. And put up two tickets to the final show as the top prize for an essay contest on "What happened?"
skipgo 06-04-2007, 03:24 PM you know, 40 isn't that old. Maybe I'm saying this because I'm 33, but still, it's not like they're fucking geriatric or something. It's not that big of a deal that the new members are younger. Besides, being a 'rockstar' probably keeps a person young, mentally, emotionally. Billy and Jimmy are probably 25 at heart. Or some shit.
runnersdialzero 06-04-2007, 03:24 PM i can't believe how many times i see the claim that billy is looking for "genuinely good people" get repeated. B0LLY is the judge of who is good? is he not the biggest asshole? how can we not assume he has actually driven the disbanning of SP and zwan? is it a coincidence that all his bands have so much turmoil? stop being so naive!
RockLobster 06-04-2007, 03:25 PM james is that you?!
redbull 06-04-2007, 03:26 PM delete + ban please
DougieZero 06-04-2007, 03:33 PM delete + ban please
Jack White... is that you?
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 03:36 PM james is trolling these parts as of late
runnersdialzero 06-04-2007, 03:42 PM Billy and Jimmy are probably 25 at heart. Or some shit.
i am trying to get the nickname BJ going, sort of like brangelina etc., so consider it next reference. thx
theghostchild 06-04-2007, 04:00 PM Ginger is HOT. Lisa is attractive...but Ginger....ahhh Ginger. Seriously though, Jimmy said in a recent interview that he was looking for a vibe when he chose the new members of the band. He said that when Jeff and Ginger auditioned....thing felt just right. A good vibe works for me!
theghostchild 06-04-2007, 04:06 PM AGAIN....JIMMY picked the new members...I am sure Billy had say, but thats the story.

I completely agree with you. I don't think of them as old and until Billy started looking really thin (I mean alarmingly thin) I thought he looked much much younger than his age (I'm sure if he gains a little weight he'll look younger because I've always thought he had this boyish innocent looking face, maybe that's just me I don't know). Whatever as long as they make great Pumpkins music it doesn't really matter to me.
exactlythesame 06-04-2007, 04:10 PM I completely agree with you. He's starting to show his age. When they played Rock am Ring, you could tell a lot of the youth has gone out from him.
Which is okay. Now he's a real man.
caliphornia 06-04-2007, 04:13 PM Whatever as long as they make great Pumpkins music it doesn't really matter to me.
yea. i don't see what age has to do with anything or why it matters as long as they play good music, which they've already proven they can do. besides, after the rotten last years with james/darcy, i think they needed that injection of younger blood to breath life back into the band. but yeah. i'm happy with the decision. others can stay bitter about it for the rest of their lives, whatever floats their boat.
Effloresce 06-04-2007, 04:25 PM To be 23 (my age) and touring with the Pumpkins... wow... what an honor.
panopticon 06-04-2007, 04:28 PM To be in your 40's and touring with two 20-something girls.
:D
runaroundkid 06-04-2007, 09:12 PM b0lly gets older and the girls in the band get younger... sweet deal for him. at this rate i'll be the bassist in 2 years
runnersdialzero 06-05-2007, 12:57 AM To be in your 40's and touring with two 20-something girls.

haha good point

What? So they're probably not touring musicians because they had to go through rehearsals and because friends wished them good luck? That doesn't make any sense. My guess is that they're only touring musicians. Why should Billy say they're official new members if he doesn't have to? This way he has the opportunity to change the members everythime he feels like it without jeopardizing the band or its credibility. Maybe Melissa comes back sometime, when Courtney doesn't need her...who knows.
People who would be thrilled playing in front of 70,000 people in Germany.
Who in their right mind wouldn't be?
Luke de Spa 06-05-2007, 01:17 AM me, i've never cared for the germans
Phoenix Down 06-05-2007, 01:29 AM me, i've never cared for the germans
not even me?
Luke de Spa 06-05-2007, 01:31 AM it's nothing personal, i'm just incredibly racist
Phoenix Down 06-05-2007, 01:33 AM how exactly are the germans are different race from you?
caliphornia 06-05-2007, 01:50 AM me, i've never cared for the germans
and i'm sure they've never cared for you either.
Luke de Spa 06-05-2007, 01:56 AM how exactly are the germans are different race from you?
race as in a group of people sharing the same history/culture/language rather than distinct physical characteristics. besides, i'm from the moon
Luke de Spa 06-05-2007, 01:57 AM and i'm sure they've never cared for you either.
they know not of we moon people
luciddream33 06-05-2007, 03:24 AM they know not of we moon people
"Us" moon people, unless that's you style on the moon. Then that's cool. I'm not racist. Except towards Mexicans, but that's another story for another time.
