Be prepared to be insulted by all the arseholes...

I would prefer Jellybelly - Zero - Here is No Why.

Glass's Theme - Cash Car Star - Dross!

I don't know if this is my favorite, but I always thought 1979/TOASE/TTEOR was an awesome three consecutive songs because of the three totally different aspects of the Pumpkins that are covered. In short, you've got pop into metal into an epic rock song.

All 6 of those are probably in my top 20 all time SP songs, besides Pissant... which is a kick ass song but not as substantial as the others listed.

Those are amazing combos. Also pick any three songs from SD in a row and it works. Soma/Geek/Mayo of course being a popular pick, rightfully so.

This sequence is actually #1 and #1A on the list of examples suggesting that Billy may not be able to track an album to save his life. Possibly the worst, most grating song on any TSP album between possibly his most popular song and possibly his best song. You couldn't script it any better if you were trying to turn away casual fans.

I think it's Rocket > Disarm > Soma, and the rest are not very close.

Honorable mention:
Quiet > Today > Hummer
Thirty-three > ITAOS > 1979
Ava Adore > Perfect > Daphne
Sunshowers > SIYL > IOTM

All time, any band... how about Cecilia Ann > Rock Music > Velouria?

Tales of a Scorched earth should not have been on the record, or hidden at the end of disc two like the rest of the weaker material Disk 2 has a couple great songs, but could have been a lot more complete and unified if the ordering was better.

Well I couldn't disagree with you more regarding TOASE. I think TOASE is Mellon Collie to the extreme and rightfully deserves to be on the album. Of all the MCIS and TAFH tracks, only X.Y.U. comes close in violence and intensity and the two are still very different songs. The placement of TOASE between "As you see there's no one around" and the piano intro to TTEOR is perfect.

Tales of a Scorched Earth is essential to MCIS. Ten years ago I thought the end of Twilight to Starlight was forgettable, but these days I feel that it's the perfect come down after all that the previous tracks have put you through. We leave X.Y.U. exhausted and then the next three tracks wrap us up in this playful beauty into the mini-epic of By Starlight and then the Beatles-esque Farewell and Goodnight which ends with a reprise of where it all began. I think you have disc two all wrong.

That is well put.....I, too, had a hard time with the ending of TTS, but in time I've gained an appreciation for the calming ending.

It is 10 years later, and can still listen to both disks through on a fairly regular basis without ever feeling the need to skip a track.

I can understand it, intellectually, as a representation of a teenager's mood swings. That fits, intellectually, with the album concept. The problem is that you don't really listen to a rock album with your intellect.
