but anyway, yes the backing vocals live are awesome. from what i hear the new record has layered billy vocals for all those parts you hear harmonized with ginger & lisa during the live show.

I second this motion...the backup vocals during the show tonight were the best I've ever heard out of live Pumpkins.

The backup vocals in tonight's show were excellent (though they could be overused), but I don't like Billy's backing vocals on studio Tarantula at all, and davin has just confirmed my fears that the whole album is going to be like that. :(

The backing vocals are excellent. They really compliment Billy's voice well. Too bad they aren't doing that on the album. That's not to say I don't like it when it's just Billy's voice on albums. Billy's backing vocals on tarantula aren't bad, but his songs just go over better with a female voice behind him.
