Have you got the version from 2003-02-14 (BBC Maida Vale Studios) remastered by (13)?

That is pretty much studio quality (it is live in the studio I believe). Sounds great.

If you're gonna 'S' Billy's 'D', do it for a song that we don't have a good quality version of, like 'Cast a Stone' or 'Glorious'.

If you 'S' my 'D' I'll send you a copy of the above-mentioned version of 'Spilled Milk'.

I already have that version, thanks anyway. I wouldn't have S'ed your D anyway, Greedo. I like to shoot first, if you know what I mean.

FWIW that show also has a version of Riverview in the same quality and an Alice Cooper cover (I'm Eighteen) and two songs from MSOTS (can't remember which...Settle Down and Endless Summer I think).

If your avatar is really you: I'm shattered.

If your avatar is not really you: I'm glad.

Yeah, it def exist. Its on these boards. I just grabbed it a couple days ago.

But I would love a studio version of... W.P., My Dream, A New Poetry, God's Gonna Set This World On Fire, Friends as Lovers, Lovers as Friends, Riverview, To Love You, For Your love, Love Lies in Ruin, Don't Let Me Down (Beatles Cover) and The "Spun" tracks

That almost covers it..... what a waste!

Yeah...heartbreaking.

I'll post my tracklists up when I get a chance for 3 or 4 compilations I've made from the available Zwan material. There's some pretty good quality live versions of most of the acoustic tracks and the later ones, including A New Poetry, For Your Love, etc.

I can live with FM quality live tracks. What I really want is better quality of the earlier stuff that is only available in audience quality...those first 2 shows have some great songs.

I strongly recommend the version I posted a link to. It is much better quality (it has been remastered, and it is in a lossless format).

its a fucking FM capture, the difference between flac and a nice mp3 encoded from that flac is going to be negligible at best. ESPECIALLY if this is the digi-fm capture, in which case it was probably broadcast at like 192kbps anyways

The FLAC version is also remastered by a professional sound engineer, which you might have realised had your desire to be an arsehole didn't overide your ability to read.

I can tell the difference - the version I linked to sounds a LOT better to me and I generally can't tell the difference between a good MP3 and FLAC.

If you don't want to listen to the better version, don't.

i have nothing against mixwell, but I will say this:
he is working with a pre-mixed sound file when he does this - so the changes that can be made are somewhat limited

the main thing i notice when i listen to one of his recordings versus the original is the louder bass frequencies

Yeah...he takes good-quality sounds and makes them that little bit better. I'm not sure whether that is remastering or remixing or what...he also does a bit of tweaking to remove pops and glitches I think.

I really like his stuff. His Machina II sounds that little bit closer to an official studio release.

I did enjoy his MII. I had the remastered White Spyder on in the boom box in the gym at school one day and the other person in there started asking me questions about it after he went over and turned it up.

OOTH, I was not pleased with the supposedly fixed version of the Machina acoustic demo of LMGTY. It took a previously somewhat natural sounding tape flub and replaced it with what sounded like a choppy digital glitch.

I'm quite aware of that. ZOMBIES UNITE!

i would kill for a non "acoustic" version of A New Poetry. the ones i've heard so far sounds horrible.

2002-04-14 is the best sounding I've heard. It's an audience recording, but it's alright quality. It's available on Archive.org

spilled milk is actually terrible. If that was on the record it'd be on par with "C'mon" for shitty riff classic rock.
