Pretty Hate Machine reeked of 80s-ness, like the beginning of Terrible Lie, Sin, and Down in It.

c'mon guys, you KNOW a lot of PHM is pretty gay. Downward Spiral is easily the best.

Why does it being a double detract greatness? Sure, it had a bit of fillers, but about 10-11 songs on each album were great.

I tried to pay careful attention to the keys of each song to see which fit best together and edited them to flow into each other in some way or another...tastefully, of course. Yah, Ripe With Decay is decent but it always just seemed too long to me.

I can appreciate that it may have been stronger as a single album, but I love the flow of the album, and I enjoy the "filler" tracks bridging the songs together.

La Mer (Version) was on nin.com years ago as a free download. It's a remix sorta thing just like the other "Version" songs.

The Fragile was really good music for drearily doing drugs. When that album came out I would stay holed up in my dorm room with my college girlfriend doing the pot and getting tatered on goofballs. I don't know if I still have the mental endurance to do that sort of thing anymore.
