I live in New Brunswick, and I'm going to Toronto to see the The Smashing Pumpkins. So after travel expenses, the hostel, food, and everything it's going to be just over $1000 I figure. Totally worth it though, I'm so so excited and I've been waiting for years for this!! would pay 3x more!

Just be patient, I'm pretty sure new U.S. dates will be announced as we approach the album's release. June and July are wide open.

well the faq on the Carling forums says 1-2 weeks before...but because they specifically flag international orders maybe they will be sent out early.

i see the same message on my status...and am trying to plan a vacation in the UK around this show. I originally wanted to make the show one of the last nights of our 12 day trip...but if this cuts it too close with ticket dispatch, i may have to reverse & push back our plans. :dammit:

to those that are wondering about reading tickets, i travelled in '05 for the festival from australia, and faced a similar problem. i rang the ticket agency up and got them to put the ticket at the box office on the gate.

so, my current trip is

6/6 berlin - 50 euro
16/6 venice - 50 euro
flight from melbourne - $2400

whilst im over i'm also seeing qotsa, pearl jam, ash and i'm going to glastonbury too. sweet!

I'm supposed to buy two tickets (row C) from an american for 250 euro. According to him GDP doesn't send tickets to the States so I can't get them before I meet him up in Paris the day of the show. Is this true or has he received false information from GDP? I wont be paying him before we meet up and he seems like a genuine guy so I'm not worried about that part, but it would be nicer to have the tickets in my hand before I travel to Paris.

I'd really appreciate some help.

Got my day ticket for the Leeds Festival yesterday, it'd sold out on See Tickets so I got it from a shop in Leeds instead. £70 for one day, they have some fucking cheek... Benicassim is £111 for 5 days, and that's in the sun without scummers trying to set fire to your tent. I'm hoping that they put on a decent headline show.

I got tickets for Paris and Berlin
Gas for the car trip to Paris, probably 30-40 €, ticket for the Rex 45 € (incl. half of fees and shipping costs), hostel in Paris 23 €.
Return flight Cologne - Berlin 76 €, ticket for Berlin 49 €.
That`s 233 € without food, drinks and T-shirts...but still, I was quite lucky with flights and getting tickets for Paris.

If I didn`t have exams in early June, I`d probably have gone to Brussels and Pinkpop as well, my bank account is quite relieved about the exams I guess...

Actually I think more people would agree that you're the retard. How exactly are the new sp any different from zwan? Just because Billy says they are? So you think that if Paul and Ringo got together with two other people that they would be the beatles?

I'm not making a judgement on the new sp until I hear the album and know who is actually in the band. At the minute just going on the name of the album and the song names it sounds very un pumpkins to me, it doesn't seem to sit with the rest of their material.

thanks for further proving your mental handicap.

how is it different than zwan.....hmmmmm....let me think. How about the fact they will be playing material from the SP back-catalog? How about the fact that they are using the SP name? How about the fact that they've gone back to a method of writing used by SP?

Was the band at the final show zwan too? since Darcy wasn't there? Was the badn touring in 1998 still zwan, since JImmy wasn't there?

you've heard the album haven't you?

TAFH
04-26-2007, 01:30 AM
I'm not going to go see them

even though they're coming to my town

reasons

1) the band coming is NOT the smashing pumpkins... it's billy corgan and james chamberlin (zwan) with different musicians playing sp songs

2) the new musicians have not even been introduced, so I don't know who I am paying to see

3) Co-founder of the SP James Iha was not even consulted... meaning that billy decided to re-unite this band without even consulting the members, which is an insult to them and to the fans (at least the fans with dignity)

hence... I will not go to their show... I will buy the new album, which already looks like it's going to suck... but I won't go to see that band... whatever it's called

Billy should be more honest with himself and call this new band: Billy Jimmy :D

3) Co-founder of the SP James Iha was not even consulted... meaning that billy decided to re-unite this band without even consulting the members, which is an insult to them and to the fans (at least the fans with dignity)
you sir, represent all that is good and true in the universe. your dignity overwhelms me

I will buy the new album, which already looks like it's going to suck...
