what do you guys use to mimick certain pumpkin sounds and what are your settings.

For me I use a JCM 800 and big muff to get an SD/MCIS sound.

i rub shit across my strings when i want to mimic zwan. it really gives you that pop sound.

i use Corgan's actual rig.
I'm his roadie/guitar tech.

I haven't tried to mimic their sound really, I just play it my own way.

This can do it but i don't use it for that anymore. It's in the band van for touring at the moment.

I believe he used more pedals during SD though... Mostly rack effects later on if I remember correctly. The "sound" is also due, in part, to his phrasing.. bending on certain accents in a Corgan-esque way and using octave chords quite a bit. You can hear a little bit of this in other artists as well (Hendrix, Brian May). See Queen's "Some Day One Day."

Hey guys Smokey Amp is all you really need to master SP guitar tones. It only cost me $25. If I want to get some killer reverb tones I put it down inside an old metal coffee can while I play.
