That would be the worse fucking decision, EVER. I would rather Linda not in the band than James and D'arcy back.

I would throw out all of the SP albums and start an anti-SP foundation if Linda turns out to be in.

If she's in, I'm almost positive she didn't record any of the bass tracks on the album- that's gonna be all Billy. Unfortunately, this news seems likely, being that they've worked together recently, she's female and she fits the image (sorta) :::sigh::: But we can't assume she'll be playing bass, like others have speculated, she might be in on keyboards. Either way, she doesn't have enough talent to where Billy can't command her musically, which is his ideal. The music is Billy's vision and he likes to be in control and not challenged by other egos. I imagine allowing James to write and sing songs for Mellon Collie was a painful concession for Billy in order to relieve tensions in the band...

My original thought was that the reason we didn't know who was in the band was because there was nobody else in the band besides Billy and Jimmy. Jimmy would record all the drum tracks and Billy would record the guitar, bass and vocals- then they would have to find adequate musicians to tour with them and call the big mess The Smashing Pumpkins.

But if the album sucks, none of this is gonna matter... so...

In the future we will all wear white because the ozone layer's weakening leads to more intense sun rays, and we have to wear clothing that absorbs fewer rays. Also if he had some kind of halo, that people from above the stage held over his head with strings, that would be pretty sweet.

yes, i realize that im making reference to James being in, which I believe he is. Maybe I am wrong, but I believe he is. The guy has had tons and tons of opportunities to speak out and say he isnt. No one has and proof for or against it. As for D'arcy, i would say that there is NO possibility she is in the band, and as far as she is concerned, she is as good as dead, because no one has heard from her for years. She is not a public persona anymore. James is out in public all the time, and we have heard no comment on either end. Billy or James. Youre telling me its been a year, and there are no comments from either person, and thats not the least big suspicious? Plus with James' songs on Myspace, i think there is some connection. Yes, perhaps I am an optimist, but I think its more likely James is in than he is out.

if i wanted nothing to do with an old band of mine, and tried to distance myself from it, i'm pretty sure i woudln't go through the effort to make it publically known i'm not in that band, i'd just move on and try my best to have nothing at all to do with it. in other words, there's a good chance he's not dignifying/acknowledging the rumors/questions because he doesn't really care

I'm not liking the idea of a futurist fashion designer working on clothes for a tour. I wish Billy would drop the affectation and wear some normal clothes on stage. I still can't get over how goofy he looked in that white dress... er, Gaultier... and acoustic guitar. The two items do not go together. I also have to laugh at the contrast of Jimmy in a t-shirt petting a dog (bday party pic) vs. the idea of him outfitted in some tight leather outfit from beyond Thunderdome. You'd think he'd have the balls to talk some sense in Billy.

She will drag the pumpkins down in inverse proportion to her distance from Billy multiplied by her time at that distance, dt, that is, if she were somehow 0-distance from Billy she would drag them down infinitely, but fortunately by the laws of physics a separation distance of 0 is impossible, for now.

Drag = (P/B(t))dt, where B(t) is the distance to Billy at time t, and P is a proportionality constant called the constant of b0llality that only I know, with dimensions m/s, in accordance with drag being dimensionless (on a side note, the constant of b0llality can be interpreted as a velocity based on the speed at which Billy thinks). One could integrate with respect to t to get the amount of drag she will cause the pumpkins over her predicted lifespan, but one would have to know B(t) exactly for the integration to make any sense. If someone could give me about 5 to 10 locations where Linda spends most of her life, and the concurrent average distance to Billy during her time at those places, then we could get a pretty good description of how much drag she will cause SP over the rest of her life.
