don't care if there is already a thread. i got my tickets saturday for their show in july at Citizens Bank Park. it's our baseball stadium and only 3 years old so i'm not sure if any bands have played there yet. i got a seat all the way on the side of the stage so my ticket was cheaper, $50. i don't care much about having a side view, as long as i can hear fine.

I'd pay $50... that would be cool. I was seriously considering it, but haven't actually gone forward with any purchasing, scared of insanely high ticket prices.

I downloaded this DVD of their rehersal/tour announcement at the Whisky A Go Go, and it was pretty cool... but I must admit that I was really turned off by the giant Best Buy posters behind them and the minute long speech the Best Buy CEO got... a few dirty things like that made me question the integrity of the reunion... is it a cash cow?

I was having all of these dirty, unpleasant thoughts - then they cut that stuff, and played "Can't Stand Losing You"... and as soon as the song started, I decided that I needed to see where they were playing close by me. :)

is it a cash cow?

Of course it is.

I can dig The Police, but a reunion? Come on. Sting is a tool now. It's all about money!

Why the hell anyone would want to pay money to go see some washed up old folks play music in a huge venue rather than flip on their greatest hits album is beyond me.

But hey, to each their own I guess. I'm just glad they'll be at Bonnaroo because that's one show I'm going to stay away from - at least all the creeps will be in one place and not where I am.

the police reuniting now is not at all exciting. they weren't that amazing. their music was fun and that's about it. also, i saw them at the grammy's and they stunk. it was like watching loverboy reunite at a local park fourth of july performance.

the police aren't pink floyd, the who, or whoever reuniting. sting is somewhat annoying.

i do like the synchornicity album though. solid.

i love their early stuff when they had a punk reggae sound

great band but sting is a tool. kind of reminds me of this other band that has a new album due out in july...

They were supposed to open for Tool here, but the show got cancelled. There's an outside chance I will be getting tickets to the LA gig though

Yeah, Sting is a turd but I would probably still go see them if the ticket price wasn't so high.

it'd be like half the crowd middle age mother- police fans, half idiots who listen to tool.

that'd be a fucking weird show. Wouldn't Tool be opening for the police?

Sting IS a tool, he annoys me almost as much as Bono. i'll try to look past my hatred for him at the concert.

Graveflower, Steely Dan is coming to the Tower Theater. I think I might see them again!!!

i recently bougth a decade of steely dan (bought aja a while ago) and i think i would like seeing/hearing them live. how big a venue is the tower theater? they seem like a smaller venue group - because of the sounds, not because they couldn't have a big show...

The Tower Theater holds probably 4,000-5,000 I'd say. Very nice venue.
