This is an unnecessarily long and boring post, but

Back in the o-board days you had all kinds of looneys posting arcane gibberish, and all kinds of other looneys following the first bunch around, thinking they were Billy or that they were saying something meaningful

And I thought it would be hilarious if one of these, ah, bringers of truth tried to deliver the same message to a completely different fanbase

So I started copying and pasting their posts to a B-52 board and the people there were like--uh, what

Somehow the idea that these messages, so obviously customized and translated into the exact idiom that nutty Pumpkins fans wanted to read (needlessly obscure semi-mystical bullshit with lots of non sequitur adjectives), were being presented to this other group of music fans, was just the funniest thing to me

And I linked to it on the oboard and people just did not get it, possibly because it's not funny to anyone else
