View Full Version : So I guess the new Modest Mouse single leaked... House of Bread 01-03-2007, 12:23 PM It's called Dashboard....anyone have it? celluloid_love 01-03-2007, 12:34 PM i saw them tonight the whole thing was really underwhelming and the new songs aren't particularly impressive at all they played 2 songs off tmaa and zero from LCW House of Bread 01-03-2007, 12:45 PM That's lame and not surprising. For some reason I'm still clinging on to a glimmer of hope. Katy Lied 01-03-2007, 12:55 PM Modest Mouse had one good album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News and even that got old fast. The lead singer looks mentally retarded. House of Bread 01-03-2007, 12:58 PM Modest Mouse had all good albums before Good News for People Who Love Bad News which fucking blew. The lead singer looks mentally retarded. . Katy Lied 01-03-2007, 01:02 PM i forgot about This is a Long Drive, nevermind that was good. lol @ at keeping the second sentence House of Bread 01-03-2007, 01:21 PM yay, so I don't even know where I would look for just a leaked song. Irridescent Fairysex 01-03-2007, 01:23 PM Modest Mouse had all good albums before Good News for People Who Love Bad News which is just acceptable. Katy Lied is mentally retarded. . Rider 01-03-2007, 01:58 PM http://locker.uky.edu/~pblaze2/Dashboard.mp3 benjamin619 01-03-2007, 04:32 PM This song is awful. Band is finished. House of Bread 01-03-2007, 08:31 PM It's like a watered down combination of Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty. This fucking sucks. That synth-trumpet part is lame as shit. Isaac Brock's voice really sucks too. KrazeeStacee 01-03-2007, 08:45 PM It just sounds like the rest of their shitty music. /Mark Sylvia Woods 01-03-2007, 08:52 PM No, it's okay, this is just Amy Blue. Oblivious 01-03-2007, 08:57 PM i didn't think it was all that bad. not exactly what i was hoping for but whatever. i mean the album is titled 'we were dead before the ship even sank'. if that's not pretty much admitting defeat i dunno what is. it's almost like they've realized that they can't recapture those moments they had with lcw or this is a long drive... and really...man i dunno what's going on with them. but after 'good news...' i was really hoping for a return to what they do best. but i think that modest mouse has seen their day and it makes me really sad. :( Oblivious 01-03-2007, 08:59 PM i'm surprised sean casey hasn't come in yet to inform us all that isaac brock is a date rapist. Effloresce 01-03-2007, 10:12 PM Modest Mouse had one good album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News and even that got old fast. The lead singer looks mentally retarded. Hmm, I don't know about that. Good News was a pretty dismal album. Lonesome Crowded West is their best, IMO. Funny how Cowboy Dan was written so long ago but is probably even more relevant today. paranoid 01-03-2007, 10:55 PM erm strange_one 01-03-2007, 11:53 PM what's the latest on the album release date? is it still going to be March/April? Oblivious 01-03-2007, 11:56 PM some folk are saying february 6th. who knows. most likely it'll get pushed back. AGAIN Oblivious 01-03-2007, 11:57 PM have you guys seen this stuff: http://www.interstate-8.com/media.asp cause i hadn't. Oblivious 01-03-2007, 11:58 PM and by "stuff" i was meaning the three live clips Oblivious 01-04-2007, 12:17 AM and how come no one ever wants to talk about the eps? fruit that ate itself is one of the best things ever. House of Bread 01-04-2007, 12:38 AM I love Dirty Fingernails. Sylvia Woods 01-04-2007, 06:46 AM I don't, it gets real annoying. Like, I shower, and within minutes OUT OF NOWHERE, they're all dirty and it makes me look like a scumbag. And then Karmas Payment is great times. neopryn 01-04-2007, 09:49 AM well i guess they have given up on being Modest Mouse but i actually like this benjamin619 01-04-2007, 12:52 PM By nature, Isaac Brock was only due to be in the spotlight for one album before he became seriously, positively annoying. It's time for the band to return to obscurity. Rockin' Cherub 01-04-2007, 01:11 PM it's as catchy as the catchier stuff on good news but also as shittily produced and irrelevant. and the awkward singing is in there too. neopryn 01-04-2007, 01:15 PM i mean it's an excellent pop song. the only reason it's disappointing is because they used to write songs like Cowboy Dan and The Stars Are Projectors. neopryn 01-04-2007, 01:21 PM "We talked about nothing which was more than I wanted you to know." C'mon, that's classic Brock. neopryn 01-04-2007, 01:22 PM song of the year for 2007 House of Bread 01-04-2007, 03:15 PM Nope, not even close. benjamin619 01-04-2007, 06:40 PM We talked about nothing which was more than I wanted you to know. . neopryn 01-04-2007, 07:01 PM that's valid basically i have shit taste so i love this song is what i'm trying to say bardy 01-04-2007, 08:04 PM this song is not bad at all but it isn't what I would think of when I think of Modest Mouse... the entire last CD was kind of a "ehhhhh well I like this CD but it's not what I wanted it to be" does that make any sense? I want more things that take a few listens to get into. I liked thinking "what the FUCK?" when I first heard some of their songs. Shapan 01-06-2007, 05:47 AM the song is alright, the opening guitar riff is pretty catchy but its definitely not a modest mouse standout regardless of what sound you want to hear. good news is my least favorite album but i still love it. i dont mind them changing their sound a bit, but i hope the album is better than this. this song is ok, but im hoping for a bit more on the album. Boycott Graceland 01-06-2007, 07:50 PM Modest Mouse had one good album, Good News for People Who Love Bad News. i want to hear all your opinions from now on. seriously. they're awesome. mirrar 01-06-2007, 08:10 PM lets not forget this song is the single, so it's obviously not going to be one of those insane epic shiver inducing mm songs we all love. i've heard live versions of about 6-7 of the songs, dashboard being one of my least favourite, and i still think it sounds pretty good cleaned up in studio. i can't waaait to hear invisible in your car, that was my favourite new one i heard. |
