How many guitars do you have?

I have 2 Strats, one in Europe and one in Canada. I am again pondering bringing the European one with me as I like that guitar very much, on the other hand that would leave me with no guitar back in Europe and 2 in Toronto, and I don't think I am that good player to justify having more than one guitar.

i have 3

a red art lutherie acoustic electric which was good 4 years ago and now i hate it so much

a cheap fender telecaster bought for the purpose of fucking with, i repaired it a year ago and kept the modifications, it's sweet, and has awesome stickers all over it... basically i want to be jonny greenwood

a nylon acoustic i got for a pitcher of beer when i was 17 and has remained in tune for years despite the fact that the neck is barely held on with glue and i carved a mural in the back. i also made it glow in the dark

and i have one of those standard black fender basses

I have:

Paul Reed Smith CE 22
Epiphone Les Paul Translucent
Peavy Predator (strat copy)
Alvarez acoustic/electric
Fender nylon string classical
Harmony guitar(first ever, crap guitar)
Ibanez Bass
Rogue Bass

The only guitars I have that I don't like would be the Harmony and Rogue. They are both start instruments and are only kept for keepsakes. The rest are damn fine instruments.

yeah, it makes no sense to keep two Strats. The one's gonna stay in Europe.

this is going to be embarrassing....

<img src="http://forums.netphoria.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=30887&stc=1"/img>

First, the "new" department. My pride and glory, a '93 Fender Jaguar, the only expensive thing i own. Next, a Yamaha EG112, note the Jimmy Chamberlin complex sticker. First guitar i ever got, present from my dad for getting my high school diploma, and t encourage me to start playing. Actually a pretty good guitar for it's price. Next, a crappy, but goodlooking Richwood Tele clone. Never buy a Richwood, thing's going off for sale soon.

Next up....
<img src="http://forums.netphoria.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=30888&stc=1"/img>

....hollowbodies. First, my latest restoration project. Some piece of junk japanese thing, bought it for 25 euros. Stuff missing, glue on the body, etc, but i'll get it working again one of these days. In the middle, a very nice EKO 100. Sounds great, plays pretty well, and in a great shape for a 60ies guitar. Next: probably a teisco, also 60ies. Not a great guitar, but a pretty looking thing for only 60 euro.

Some more....

<img src="http://forums.netphoria.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=30889&stc=1"/img>

....random old stuff. A "Morris" Telecaster copy, japanese. Incredibly thin guitar, nothing to it. Pretty horrible quality, but decent to play and doesn't sound that bad either. Got it for free. Next, a very decent SG copy, by the "Electown" brand. Amazing sound, decent playability, great condition for it's age, probably halfway 70ies. Last: another EKO, this time a Manta. Shittiest bridge ever, but a funky looking thing.

Last....
<img src="http://forums.netphoria.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=30890&stc=1"/img>

....the plywood/junk department. Starting off with something unknown japanese. Very small body with a log for a neck. Got it from some friend's parents for free. Electronics aren't working, not too bothered to fix it. Next: a cheap Hondo II mustang/jaguar like copy. Horrible neck, very high action, crappy sound. Looks nice though. Last, more japanese 20 euro junk, this time from "Vision". I think i've seen this one already under 6 different brand names. Doesn't sound bad, haven't done anything to it yet, the current strings are as thick as your local television cable.

in chronological order

Carlo Robelli Bass (5 String)
Ibanez Performance Accoustic/Electric
Fender Standard Strat (Modded with Custom Lace Sensors, Schaller Tuning Machines, Roller Nut, Cosmetic Changes)
Gibson SG
Fender Stratosonic DVII
Rickenbacker 330

So 6 I guess. I love and use them all, but use the SG the least. For some reason Gibson's aren't really my great love, I guess.

I also have two flutes, a theremin, a Fender Rhodes, Spinet Piano, a small kalimba, Several Bamboo Flutes, a Pan Flute, and various software-based synths.

How much should one pay for a Gibson SG? They are on eBay from (the 2003 issue) anywhere from 800 - 3000. Is the 2003 issue a good guitar? I have a yahama acoustic and I am looking to get an electric after my student loan comes through - I am looking to spend 1200 tops. I guess the only reason I want a Gibson SG (or was it the Les Paul?) is because I saw Iha rocking out with it in concert. Any suggestions?

Go to the guitar store and play them all before you decide what to buy.

-Ibanez starter guitar, worst sounding piece of shit ever, literally falling apart
-Ovation acoustic, mid-level guitar, not in great condition
-Standard American Strat, sounds great, best feeling guitar I have ever held. I am going to stick lace sensors in it and go for the Corgan sound.

2 pages and not a single "and none of them is fake"...joke?

btw, i got a fender strat (at least the little stamp up there on the whatever you call it says so) which i have not stringed for quite a while now...probably should do it, even though my feeble tries to actually learn to play guitar have never given fruit to anything worthwhile
