 it was much better than I was expecting and I was actually surprised, given the lackluster TalkShow release years ago. Its cool to see the DeLeo brothers rockin' again. And I've always had a fondness for Rich Patrick's vocals.

What I like is how these guys pull elements from both STP and Filter...which is unaviodable really....but in such a way that they do something new with it, and not just have a 2nd rate sound that leaves you longing for the original (i.e. Audioslave and to a lesser degree Velvet Revolver).

Album is solid, imo.

I'm going to check it out. I've always been a fan of the DeLeo bros, esp Dean's guitar work.

I like Filter and some Stone Temple Pilots stuff. I shall have a listen. It has to be better than Velvet Revolver

I've been listening to Title of Record recently - its a good album. I only found out Darcy did backing vox yesterday on 'cancer'

anyways, I got this album from torrents, and so far I think its rather great.

Would you prefer the term "Record"?

it is thoroughly evident that he would prefer the term "album".

It's like when people say "I bought the new You, Me, and Dupree DVD". I hate that! It's the "You, Me, and Dupree motion picture film"! A-holes.

a purchase relates directly to the format on which you have bought it, but when reviewing the content of the work it makes no sense to refer to the format if that content is identical across various media. you'd have to be some kind of moron or young child to say "You, Me, and Dupree is the worst DVD Owen Wilson has ever been in, and that's saying a lot."

besides, CDs are more comparable to VHS now.

I heard samples of this at fye amoungst many ethic children today, and it was pretty boring. Much like the grunge it is being compared to.

i prefer "record" to "album" because album has more commercial connotations. when someone discusses "the album" i find it really demeaning, as if "the album" is just a neat little commericial product devoid of substance. "record" is best.

i am not aware of any commercial connotations whatsoever to the term album. record, though, yes.

which is to say that you're nuts.

i think i feel this way because most people tend to say album rather than record. album is suggestive of the hard copy of the music itself, as if it is simply a "unit", the packaging, copyright notes etc while record sounds to me like a general, somewhat vague term for the actual content of the album, which is the music- the recording.
