View Full Version : wtf is with sellers not using paypal on ebay
obscured01 10-05-2006, 11:25 PM This is totally my bad for not paying attention, but I've won 2 items in the last week or so of people who don't accept paypal. Who doesn't use paypal? And why the hell wouldn't you use it?
obscured01 10-05-2006, 11:26 PM I suppose you could say because paypal charges a fee... but it's really not that much. I sell things on ebay all the item and use paypal as my preferred method of payment and the amount paypal charges me to use their service is absolutely worth it. In my opinion anyway.
PkPhuoko 10-05-2006, 11:32 PM because paypal allows charge backs and people can get ripped off.... happens all the time

What is a charge back? I use paypal all the time for items I sell and I'm not familiar with this phenomenon.

i keep receiving emails from them saying someone is trying to use my account.
wtf is that?
teh b0lly!!1 10-06-2006, 08:31 AM pardon me if my question appears stupid, i really have next to none experience with paypal
(only used it once)
but is there a way to make it less "breached"?
i.e have it ask you for your credit card number every time you pay, etc

yo soy el mejor 10-06-2006, 11:31 AM im a seller on ebay lol and i use paypal
PkPhuoko 10-06-2006, 11:35 AM Ok heres how the "scam works"
I buy an item
I pay via paypal
I recieve said item (scam only works if no tracking was used)
I have a friend buy from seller
He pays via paypal
He recieves said item
We both complain to paypal
We both give negative feedback
We both generally get our money back from paypal and get to keep our items
Scam complete
Effloresce 10-06-2006, 11:44 AM Well you can always get an old fashioned money order. It's really not that much of a hassle but it does take a few days longer.
I'm a buyer and seller. Paypal or bust.
