TV series usually start to get kind of bad about season 3. Boston Legal is certainly living up to this, the last two episodes have been extremely poor after a pretty solid season premier.

Dead
10-04-2006, 11:26 PM
I've been watching Boston Legal, it's the same bizarre stuff as usual. They seem to be replacing Alan Shore with that new guy who is basically a clone of his character, I wonder if he's leaving or something. I guess the new guy is slightly different but they sure are similar.

Oh yeah I didn't mean to watch it but I've seen the first two Brothers & Sisters, pretty good show.

tcm

let's face it, American television is a veritable goldmine of entertainment today.

Trotskilicious
10-04-2006, 11:30 PM
Yeah you know my friend and I feel the same way about Craig Bierko. I think James Spader does want to leave, I've heard he doesn't get on too well with Shatner.

I think it's starting to degenerate into a who fucked who kind of show, the last two episodes have been really lacking in the courtroom department, and the criminal investigation that Bierko's character is doing is not really in the same spirit of the show that I started watching. It was pretty awful last night when Shirley and Ivan started bickering in front of the judge and bickering in the judge's chambers. I would think Shirley Schmidt would be more professional than that.

shore was always a really interesting character, especially on The Practice where he was in the context of a more realistic universe. Great character but if they're gonna scale him back and put in a near-clone, that's pretty lame. I used to watch Ally McBeal and enjoy it until things went overboard and became completely unreal, which turned me off. Boston Legal is basically at that point. Actually it may have started out from that point. But it's still enjoyable so far. I liked when they were talking about the show from within the show, thats hard to pull off but it mostly worked for those couple of scenes. Like when he said "If there were new guys they would have been in the season premiere!" Shatner is such an insane character that it seemed ok for him to be talking like that. Heh. But ya I see what you're saying. I also noticed they have like 3 star trek actors on there now, or 4. Weird.

But I miss some of the seriousness of The Practice.

Trotskilicious
10-04-2006, 11:41 PM
There's Shatner, Odo, and now Quark, who's the other Star Trek actor?

Dead
10-04-2006, 11:43 PM
I thought there were three not counting shatner but I guess I was wrong if you can't think of anyone. It was just a number I had in my head.

In related news, there are 3 Alias actors on Brothers & Sisters.

Carrie? THe Dead Zone?

This episode of Lost seemed like a wasted episode to me, except for the very beginning. So the others live in this commune on the island? For god's sake this is even more bizarre than I could have imagined. Still, nothing really happened last night....it's as if this episode is just set-up for the rest of the season.

Next week looks exciting, though.

thats how it always is.

everything looks better next week.

what i am pissed about is that the episode didnt even have a cliche cliffhanger at the end. what the shit. it just stopped.

i think that they could lose a lot of people is the next five episodes are not very good.

Didn't 'Henry Gale' say when he was imprisoned by the group that he would have preferred Stephen King over the Brothers Karamazov when Locke gave him the book?

Nah, I just watched all of season two in the last few weeks. It's fresh on my mind. Had I seen it however long ago it aired, I'd probably not have any remembrance of it.

I know what you mean. There's a couple other cable shows that we've been downloading and watching-- God, last night reminded me of what it's like to have commercials again! What a bummer.

I'm way too addicted to LOST to wait for the DVDs to come out, though. :-\

Also, whoever said that the Nine was "damn good" deserves to die in a pit of sulphur.

Man. I used to really love that show, and James Spader. I stopped watching it over a year ago, though... It just got to be too awful to watch.
