Ahmadinejad to Cuba, New York
Wed Sep 06 2006 20:23:38 ET
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to attend the summit of Non-Aligned Movement countries in the Cuban capital Havana in mid-September, an official said Wednesday.
"The president will take part in the summit of Non-Aligned countries in Havana," said the official from the president's office, who asked not to be named.
The summit of the 116-nation grouping is to take place between September 11-16, and Ahmadinejad is also expected to attend the UN General Assembly in New York that starts on September 12, the official said.
MORE
Ahmadinejad said in Tehran Wednesday that his attendance of the UN General Assembly would be a "suitable opportunity" to challenge Bush in a television debate.
"My forthcoming visit to New York for the UN General Assembly would be a suitable opportunity to hold the debate and all world people, especially the Americans, could hear and watch it without censorship," the news agency ISNA quoted the Iranian president as saying in a cabinet session.

he's pretty awesome if you ask me
his argument: um, we're a sovereign nation just like america; we have the right to work hard to develop nuclear power and nuclear weapons just like america did 60 years ago; we need to protect ourselves from attacks like america made on iraq and our other neighbors (oh by the way, we hate jews and all non-muslims)
bush's argument: you shouldn't be allowed to have nuclear power because you've not proven yourselves peaceful and ok in the international community
um, who's argument looks better?

plenty of alarmist were on about a 9/11/01 type event the first time they tried to bring it down back in '93. these things just don't hit home until they hit you.
but about Mr. Prophet, he doesnt hide his intentions and yet academia in this country upon their arms and say, "come on in, all points of view welcome here." they have no idea who their dealin with...because they're just too well read and stupid and Mr. Prophet plays them like a fiddle and they suck it up all while being 'open minded' and 'on the course for reasonable dialogue between nations' as Mr. Prophet will lead the discussion to.

the thing about that is Berger didn't say hands off Bin-Laden, it was Clinton who made that call. but whatever:
the New Freedom of the Arts act 2012:
perhaps the State should tell the artist what they can paint. sounds reasonable to me since such a serious issue as 9/11 is involved. yes, yes. the state shall now approve what the truth is re: 9/11. dramatizations that give light to anything other than the official 9/11 investigation shall be met with governement reprimand and censorship and in due course I.R.S. investigations and licensing agreements.

anyway,
Ahmadinejad and his ilk used to just overthrow regimes and take hostages and try to deal their view from those positions. That was the late 70's into the 80's. These days, they play democratic politics much better, having been helped by Marxist from Russia and China and showing Mr. Prophet mysitcal rhetoric in the public eye usually diffuses your ultimate aim. Better to speak to better times at home through social programs and slip in your agenda as you grow.
Mr. Prophet still gets carries away with himself at times, but in terms of political power, he's figured out how to get it and now hold onto it and now he's not stopping until he fulfills his mission: wipe out Isreal and the West, and if he's really good and read his Mao, he won't fire a shot to do it.
We'll go willfully...but first. By all means, Lets hear him out and see what he has to say at Harvard.
in America, we're a fast-food microwave political creature. Communist regimes, which are everywhere in this world and have always sought to bring America down, will wait a generation or 5 to see their goals met, not to mention the radical Jihadist.

The Prophet is prone to mystical notions about his destiny. That's where he gets in trouble with some in his own country. He leads a minority of people in Iran, but they vocalized loudly through the elections last year and now he speaks for many Arabs who see America pressuring all of Islam.
the debate is never going to happen, the game for the Prophet is the one he's most intrigued by, displaying the power of thoughts and ideas: Iran would just like a Nuke to do it with.

By the way, the principle of abolishing political double standards, double standards like developing nuclear weapons while you threaten other countries who are legally enriching uranium, isn't marxism you McCarthyite, it logic.

Eric Blair,
i guess I need to provide even broader perspective on the issue:
The Communist regimes I speak to have a vested interest in keeping down the political class that has fought back totalitarian regimes so well in the last 100 years. That essentially is the middle-class in America and many U.S. politicians are actually Internationalist (our last 2 Presidents, for example) who have been prone to mimic Marxist ideals within their agenda for America. The result is very deliberate Internationalist/Globalist agenda.
For Bush: prime example is the open borders with Mexico. Nationalism itself is the enemy to the devoted Marxist, a blurring of Nationalism is important for the Internationalist to further marginilize the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Nationalist pride and the military are two coveted placeholdings that Social Science professors all over the U.S. will display as the root of all evil any chance they get...now, that's mainly because they're chickenshit losers who could never find a real job in a tougher marketplace (so they teach in a fixed one, just like the Good Marxist losers they are), but I suppose nobody's perfect.
Clinton: i.e. Manchurian Candidate. His college days were often interspersed with Marxist teachings (especially when invited by the Kremlin to come to Russia), but hey, why bother with those facts.
his legaleeze mind would agree with your assessment that Iran is legally enriching Uranium. And that's the mind-set that will eventually disrupt the N.F.L. football season here in the states, which at this point, might be the only thing that really pisses off this country. sad but true.

once again: Mr. Prophet is on about Isreal becoming non-existent. He's brilliantly tapping into anti-semitism for his aims but Im hopeful at some point it'll boomerang on these extremist and they'll be ousted.
he's definately pushing things to the brink...but people should go on with your N.F.L. fantasy football or d/l shitty indie band songs from Echo Park or Silverlake. Ramifications from international politics don't have an effect on those people...says so in the bible.

Trots,
disslunker already laughed at that and then I put up the New York Sun article merely stating what Drudge had the day before; that Mr. Prophet was coming to New York.
but if Drudge threatens your notion of news, then your about 10 years behind the times dude.
Russia, which is backed by China, opposes tough action advocated by the U.S., Britain and France, and its amendments to a Western draft resolution would reduce sanctions and delete language that would cut off Iran's access to foreign missile technology.
it's all about leverage.
I think Mr. Prophet is gonna try and take all he can while he sees Bush backpeddling quite a bit recently.
