Sent to Catholic school also. Stopped going to mass when I was a kid, except on Holy Days, when my class got dragged to Church. My major problem with Catholicism was the boring sermons and uninspiring Priests. I still kinda believe deep down, but the whole edifice of organized religion is a turn-off to me. Gibson's film 'Passion of the Christ', for example failed to resonate on any level - the guilt/sin element present in Catholicism never made sense to me.
