Blue lines, Protection and Mezzanine are fucking great. I really enjoy 100th Window too but that was when it was only Del Naja so its quite a bit different. They are some of the best trip hop out there ever. Not to mention they always did killer remixes of their own songs and others. As far as trip-hop style bands go really only Dj Shadow and Portishead hold a candle to them.

I prefer Shadow over Massive Attack when it comes to the music aspect but I love the vocals and rhymes in Massive Attack's music. I think it would be Shadow> Massive Attack> Portishead but I really enjoy all 3's music.

i'd say portishead > shadow > massive attack

i think my favorite ma song is unfinished sympathy.
