Woohoo. That's half my balance, so I feel good about it. But I'm also uneasy - I just spent $3500. Yet, I have to look at it as if I already spent it . . . because I did. Hate paying interest.

How much credit card debt are you in?

thats pretty good - i wouldn't mind paying off $3500. because i'm in school, currently on an unpaid co op, my balance is around 6 grand - it used to be around $7200. I used to have a gold card but the interest was higher.

i have never had a credit card because i don't trust myself to be responsible with it.

my only debt is my student loan and that's really low interest [just the rate of inflation i think]

i was the same for a long time, but i knew i was close to buying a condo and i had to build up my credit and my credit history. of course, i ended up moving to LA instead of buying. Argh. Plus, as a freelancer, I put everything on my AMEX because it itemises everything at the end of the year, and that really helps out in taxes.

that's a good practice to have. hopefully you can keep that up when life hands more and more expenses to you. but if you can keep in the habit, you'll have a great credit score. i have a pretty high one myself, but if you make good payments, it makes no difference. plus, it helps to have some balance on your cards because when if you have a zero balance, some creditors and loan officers see your credit limit as potential debt which could hurt them. so it's kind of a catch-22.

what is it to examine titles?

when someone is interested in buying a property, they need someone to search its history, its title meaning who has owned it in the past (deeds), what mortgages are on it, etc etc. you'd be surprised how many mortgages may stay on a property and its release (meaning it's been paid off) not having been recorded. so as a title examiner, i would examine the history after the searchers have finished, and make sure all outstanding debts against the property are taken care of at the closing table for the new owner. ie. all property taxes paid, no outstanding mortgages, the chain of title (deed past on to deed - making sure all past owners relinquished their rights to property) is secure, all that grand stuff. then we would insure it, so if something comes up later (like someone claiming that in the past, they had inherited and didn't sign off on a deed), we would pay any possible incurrences.

I've got 2, each are about halfway point with the balance. I don't use them anymore, would rather just pay them off and forget about them. let's think about that.
have you worked at $8/hour? 8x40=320, after taxes that's about $270ish. 4x270=1080. pay $200 in student loans, you have $880. imagine you pay $100 on credit cards, you have $780. imagine you pay $500 in rent, you have $280. electricity and phone, maybe ~$80, you have $200. for transportation, $100 for the month is not a high estimate, right? then you have $100 for groceries and other expenses. I don't know about you, but i think working at $8 is almost unlivable, and definitely makes a $200 student loan payment suck.

Yeah. We're not a super-high volume store. Our DM (who was brought in from OUTSIDE the company to be a DM, so she doesn't get a LOT of stuff that an internally-promoted DM would) doesn't seem to understand that and gives us retardedly high goals for the banana beverages and shit. but we do really well on stuff like that, UPH wise and percentages and crap.

We get great snapshots. I was there twice when we got a 5 star, 100%. Woohoo. then this lady came in and broke my fucking streak and gave us a 4 star, some bullshit 80% because she LOOKED for shit to report. every store in the district that she went to did crappy- none of them got higher than about an 80%.

I love working there. great benefits, decent pay, decent work, but I love all my coworkers.

I've been there for almost a year and the biggest reason I'm pushing for the shift supervisor position is more money and more hours. I still go to school, so it's not like sbux is 'What I do.'
