seeriously.
every time i do find one i like - by the time i need to buy some more, they're discontinued or some shit :(

shopped for 2 hours before finally getting fitted (i'd measured myself at home and figured i was a C) and finding out i was looking for ENTIRELY the wrong size.
i went from a b to a d and added 2 inches to my band size in 3 months. (still no weight gain though!)

well you wont have to be "intimidated" anymore! ;)

Seriously though, ugh. They normally don't carry the size I wear in the store (well, I usually just buy the wrong size that fits.. eh well enough I guess) instead of ordering 3240832 different bras from catalogs (and sending most back) to find one that works right.

you know, i have never minded bra shopping. i like bras and my size has always been predictable for me and has seemed reasonable to me (as compared to my pants size at times), and for some odd reason i've never minded being measured, but i can see where you could find it aggrivating. the big problem for me is that a lot of the 'pretty' bras aren't good looking when you put them under a shirt, and sometimes it's hard for me to buy a tan bra when there's a sweet green one with scallopy edges... i have had really good luck with basic victoria's secret bras. you can get awesome colors but really basic and functional bras. and if you hand wash and air dry them, they hold up. if you want to use the washing machine on them, forget it.

and i am an underwear junky but luckily i am recovering. i have bought all my most recent pairs at walmart, and i love them. blowing $20 on one pair is not reasonable when you can get 3 pairs for $5.

My girlfriend was talking about something involving bras the other day... I was driving and thus focusing on other cars and the Smashing Pumpkins playing on CD, but anyhow, she said something like if she doesn't wear a bra her tits hurt, and if she does wear a bra her back hurts. So... she just doesn't really wear a bra... pretty much every time she hangs out with me. Heh... she's got some good boobs.

Like a couple people mentioned, Victoria's Secret is awesome for finding bras. Except you really have to find a good one because some of the ones around here are all unorganized and they don't have anything you need...but if I go out to the nice suburban malls they have everything! The only thing that sucks is that every bra I find that I like there is $45+

I get some of them from Target too, just because I love that damn place...their bras aren't the most durable, but I can find ones that I'll wear for a little while and for $15 you can't really beat that.

well you girls that like shopping for them can go find me a 32DD bra that isnt grandmothery and also isnt frilly (i.e. offers no support and shows underneath shirts)

I just normally buy the 34Ds from victoria's secret even though the badn size is a bit too large. maybe I could just sew the band to fit me, I wonder how noticble that would be underneath clothing.

Fuck shoes. Buying sneakers isn't so bad, but I have flat, wide feet. Women's heels? Flats? Cute little shoes that almost look like ballet slippers? Pretty sandals? Forget it. I'll stuff my feet into a pair for a special occasion and spend the next 2 weeks nursing the blisters. *glares at the blisters on my feet from last week's pretty shoe excursion during graduation*

Yeah I was just going to say that you should just get a 34D, is it really that much of a difference? Otherwise, I'd assume Victoria's Secret would have a 32DD...they don't? Does Fredrick's of Hollywood exist anymore? They'd have to have them. Of course you have to go to the places where those who have fake boobs also go - but hey, good for those fake boob girls because otherwise we wouldn't ever be able to find bras that weren't grandmothery in our sizes.

Yeah I have flat ugly feet too so finding cute sandals or anything that's strappy and has a heel is useless - I go with flip flops in the summertime, I have ONE pair of dress shoes that I can stand, and the rest are boots and gym shoes. I get lucky once in a while and I usually end up buying the shoes even though I'm completely broke - but I'm just way too picky and nice shoes are always expensive, at least way too much for me to pay. I scan Target (again, best store ever) and Payless every now and then for shoes and I've actually come across a few cute ones in the last year or so. I even bought my boots on ebay - they're exactly what I wanted, I was amazed.

What's worse is wearing heels with flat feet, do you ever get that aching pain in the knuckle of your big toe? I felt like I broke it after graduation in high school - last time I'll wear a heel over a half inch ever again.

well I havent really looked recently but they definitely dont carry that size in the store. They had a couple bras on their website available in 32DD but they were really frilly and more for sex/show and less for actual support. I really like the lightly padded ones because they offer more support and more uhh.. protection... if the temperature suddenly drops :)

KrazeeStacee
06-20-2006, 10:46 AM
They didn't have padded in your size, but check it out, this place should have more of what you're looking for: http://www.fredericks.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Holiday2002&category%5Fname=Smooth+Sensation+Collection&product%5Fid=51140

They have a 32DD and it's not frilly and it has support - granted it's a pushup and you probably don't need that but I find pushups actually give a little more comfortable support.

One of my friends just got it done actually and she said it was HORRIBLE horrible horrible, but now that she's healing up she can already start to feel the weight being lifted off of her (literally). But she has to have tubes and drainage shit coming out of her, she's on tons of pain meds and she said when they were doing the surgery she thought she was going to freak out - but in the end she said it was well worth it.

Not to scare you out of it, just realize it's a pretty painful procedure and be prepared for it. I feel so bad for her having to go through all of that but I'm sure she's going to feel so much better.

Yeah this is her livejournal entry about it:

My back was immediately relieved of pain once the surgery was done, but of course now I'm left with these cuts and bruises in trade. The medicines are helping of course, but there are a couple of times a day where my left breast feels like it's ripping on the crease. So yeah, it hurts. I have tubes on each side of me that come out and release fluids (plasma and other crap) from my body into these drain bags. I think those drains are what bother me the most out of it all. At first I was just overwhelmed with everything and couldn't help but feel well... helpless and cry. Having my mom and sister here helped though.

I just know that I'm never having an elective surgery ever again. ever.

....

Makes me feel all gross thinking about it but if you can go through with it then I'd say go for it!

Yeah I mean, I can't say finding a 32dd is going to be easy, but they do exist and you're most likely to find them in places like that. And most places aren't going to carry those sizes in the stores just because there's so few people who have to have that size. But I mean what I do is I just find something I like and stick with it, hopefully one of those will work out for you, at least they don't seem to be too frilly and they're pretty much normal bras.

it would be really easy to have a tailor make the band a little smaller for you. since i know you're short like me, i know you're surely used to having everything made shorter for you, and i know they'd fix your bras, too. good tailors are awesome.
