I think there was a story floating around round the time of the breakup by Butch Vig that the dude was sent by Virgin and he showed up litterally 30 seconds after a typical SD-Recording-Session-Meltdown and Vig just went, "Oh, fuck..."

The outtakes bit was just kinda creepy ('hey...uh... oh James right, and... uh... who... oh, Billy? Oh hi, ok, Billy, hey. And you must be D'arcy!') and it just goes to show how much the original was edited to make him look good and like he was in on the jokes
