if anyone's from around this area, you might want to check these guys out

it's a free show supposedly and they've rocked venues recently in athens

they've even got a blond chick bass player and they play some pretty cool tunes (from their last show, e.g., "I Am One," "An Ode to No One," and "Silverfuck."

Here Is No Why

Where Boys Fear To Treat
The Aeroplane Flies High (Turns Left, Looks Right)

This isn't SP related.

cog, this is directly related to the smashing pumpkins...if you want to split hairs, then, well, i guess someone'll need to delete it then; this is much closer to being about SP than some tangentially related billy corgan thread

deviousj, you've known me long enough to know that i'm not on a fucking eteam, come on

fyi, the band fucking rocked; the drummer was especially impressive and the vocal was similar to billy's; if you're ever in the area, look them up to see if they're playing somewhere; i think their next show is in may

i just saw a clip of them live. I pretty much refuse to listen to bands who have the idiocy to go into the studio and try to recreate the originals as close to perfect as they can. Why not try and deviate or fuck with it? Instead of setting yourself up to be a piss poor imitation.

Those squashing pumpkins really piss me off. We got the idea after the first video or two, there's no need to clog up youtube with so many mediocre clips.

I agree, there are alot of vids.. but it only takes a second to skip past them. And to be honest I'm glad they are playing live, reminding people about SP music. I think we should support the tributes, just encourage them to never commit anything to cd or get members of the band who look like originals.

Well, in my opinion, it's less sp related than JC and Garson doing a track together, seeing as how one is a pumpkin, and the other moonlighted as one.

I don't know why it bugs me so much that they moved that thread, I guess I'm just really ornery lately.
