yeah -- i did the next best thing back in january. my parents flew out for 20 days, i took 9 days off from work. it was far more helpful than i ever expected. i was such a wreck, i didn't know to ask them to fly out, but they wanted to talk to my dr., so i said that's fine and after they talked they got on a flight the next day. so yeah i'm unbelievably thankful/lucky for that. it was more helpful than going back to live with them would have been -- i woudln't have known what to do with myself there, and i would have beaten myself up for having 'failed' at being able to survive on my own, and once better i'd have to go through the months it takes to set up a new life again.

i'm back having problems again because of a specific event, but i learned a lot when they were here about how to get my shit together, and i'm trying to repeat it on my own. i'm probably about 65% as bad as i was back in january, which is to say i can at least interact with other people with some effort and i can force myself to do some things each day once i'm finally able to get going. and i don't constantly appear to be walking wounded, even if i feel that way a lot of the time

how about you, how would you say things have gone the last few months?

it's been a bit like that but it's been a very slow process over almost 2 1/2 years now. of course there are a number of problems that arise as well when you suddenly have an urge to be a part of something else than your own world. i didn't have these depressive episodes either when i was unmedicated but they have become less crippling lately so yeah it's going in the right direction.

i'm glad about that, that it's progressing in the right direction. honestly.
