this is what i got kiley so far (standard valentines day stuff--plush, candy and a card)

<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c116/robbie_pi/vdayforkiley.jpg" border="0" alt="Image hosting by Photobucket"></a>

a customer of mine is going to hook me up with a flower arrangement for her and then next friday (since we both are busy on the 14th) i think i'm going to either take her out to the melting pot or cook for her...it all depends on my financial status that week. She works at a lingere store so i'm pretty sure i'll be getting a nice suprise that night as well :smoke:

I say cook for her. Girls love that shit. But I approve of your plans in general. :)

Hopefully I'll be taking my boyfriend to the Kings-Blackhawks or Kings-Stars game.

Toby

yeah, i'll probably cook for her because she really doesn't want me to spend too much on her due to my financial woe...but i'm not really sure what i should cook. i have a hankerin' for a country ham, but i doubt she'll enjoy that for a vday dinner.

Make something Italian. And get a bottle of wine, some candles. Even if it's just simple spaghetti it will be nice.

Well, its way bigger than the original ones. Those are small and i've never seen anyone of those that big. I'm sure she'll like whatever you cook Tobes.

If you make it right, that's a great idea. Meaning don't just buy pasta and bottled sauce.

You should check out foodnetwork.com (I think that's it). They have tons of easy recipes.

F the spaghetti dude. Make this instead

Baked Ziti

¾ lb of pasta (ziti or ziti rigati)
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce (we like Barilla, 5 Brothers, or Classico – tomato basil varieties)
1 8 oz (2 c) package of shredded mozzarella or Italian blend cheese
1 box frozen spinach, thawed and drained
1 small container part skim ricotta
1 egg
nutmeg, to taste

Boil pasta according to package directions and set aside.

Mix spinach, ricotta, egg, nutmeg, and 1 generous handful of shredded cheese in a bowl.
Pour enough sauce in the bottom of a 9 inch square pan to cover. Put a layer of pasta, then a layer of ricotta cheese, a sprinkle of cheese, and cover with more sauce. Repeat this until all ingredients are gone, finishing with a layer of pasta, sauce, and then shredded cheese.

Bake in an oven at 350º until bubbly.

Serves 6-8?

I suggest penne pasta in vodka cream sauce. It will be pink! For Valentine's Day!

I don't know, but it goes well with wine and wine is romantic. Well more so than tequila shots or something.

i think if you're making dinner it'd be best to make something that won't stink up your house and won't stink up your breath. if you're going for romance that is.

this is totally true. You have to start out small and impress her more and more every year or else she'll start to feel dissapointed in your inability to "keep the romance"

Oh, and I am taking Samantha to AsiaDeCuba for dinner. I'm moving all her (and my) shit to Manteca that weekend and that's her plush, chocolates and what have you.

I too am all about the incresing gift thing, so I'm setting her up for disappointment for a while, then when I actually do something cool, it'll be rad.http://forums.netphoria.org/wwwboard/icons/icon6.gif

ammy

we likely won't do much. valentine's day isn't a big thing for us, and we are saving money for something more important.

although val's day IS dan's dad in law Val's birthday, so maybe we'll be at his mum's
